What you’ll be doing

As the Associate, Digital Asset Platforms, you will play a hands-on role in supporting the execution and delivery of CIBC's digital asset strategy. You will contribute directly to active workstreams across custody, trading, settlement, tokenization, payments, and regulatory engagement — providing analytical, coordination, and delivery support that enables the broader team to execute against the Digital Asset Team's strategic priorities.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $125,000.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategy & Research Support - Support the DA Team in translating strategic priorities into actionable research, analysis, and documentation. Conduct market research to identify digital asset trends, emerging use cases, and competitive developments across capital markets, payments, and wealth management. Prepare high-quality briefing materials, presentations, and reports that inform strategic decisions at the MD level. Track industry news and regulatory changes, synthesizing key developments into clear, concise summaries for senior team members.

  • Execution & Delivery Contribution - Contribute directly to the delivery of digital asset initiatives across all active workstreams, supporting the DA Team in tracking milestones, coordinating activities, and maintaining project documentation. Assist in the design and rollout of digital asset products — including custody, trading, settlement, and tokenization — by supporting workstream leads with research, analysis, and coordination tasks. Liaise with cross-functional teams including Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to support delivery activities and ensure timely follow-through on action items. Participate in the evaluation of fintech and technology partners, supporting due diligence processes and internal project teams.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Support - Monitor regulatory developments and compliance requirements related to digital assets, flagging material changes to the DA Executive Team. Assist in preparing documentation and coordinating with Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to support regulatory submissions, internal approvals, and policy updates. Help prepare materials for regulatory meetings, industry forums, and external communications on behalf of the team.

  • Business Development & Client Support - Support business development efforts by preparing presentations for both external and internal purposes including client presentations, Digital Asset Strategy updates, senior management presentations. Assist with client onboarding and relationship management activities, ensuring a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism. Contribute to the development of go-to-market materials for new digital asset products and services.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience. 1–3 years of relevant industry experience in capital markets, fintech, banking, consulting, or technology. You have product management, development, and delivery experience. Exposure to commercial modelling for new product delivery. 

  • You have a degree. In Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, and/or a related field.
