If so, joining our team at Nutanix as a Member of Technical Staff - AHV offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of an enterprise-grade hypervisor, working with cutting-edge technologies and making a significant impact on the advancement of our software solution. About the TeamAt Nutanix, you will be a part of the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) team, a group dispersed across the US and APAC regions. AHV is an enterprise-grade hypervisor designed for Nutanix’s software solution, offering reliability, performance, and scalability ideal for demanding enterprise and private cloud workloads. Your focus will be on Virtual Machine Lifecycle Management, ensuring the design and implementation of consistent and highly scalable distributed services.You will report to the Director, Engineering. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, where team members are expected to come into the office 3 days a week, fostering collaboration and face-to-face interactions. We emphasize minimizing meetings and encourage document-based communication for a more flexible schedule and transparent knowledge sharing. Additionally, we have Nutanix lunch days twice a week, providing a great opportunity for in-person connections with your team and other colleagues.There are no travel requirements for this position at Nutanix, ensuring you can focus on your responsibilities and contribute effectively within the team dynamic. Your RoleContribute to the development of Nutanix's Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV)Design and develop new AHV security featuresMaintain and fix issues in AHV security featuresPush for improved reliability, performance, and security of AHVInteract with open source communitiesLead the development of features from concept to marketHave extensive knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/LinuxUtilize C and Python programming languages for developmentBe familiar with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network management What You Will BringStrong proficiency in C and Python programming languagesExtensive knowledge of OS internals, particularly UNIX/LinuxFamiliarity with x86 architecture, virtualization, storage, and network managementExperience developing software for Unix/Linux/BSD operating systems at the kernel levelSkilled in C/C++, multi-threading, algorithms, data structures on LinuxStrong debugging skills in Linux kernel modeDevice driver development experience in Unix/Linux/BSD environmentsBS or MS in Computer Science or related field (preferred)The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 156,000 and USD $ 310,800per year.However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
