Instrument Enterprise Services (IES) is a key growth engine within Thermo Fisher Scientific, delivering lifecycle services that maximize instrument uptime, performance, and customer productivity. Within IES, the spare parts business is a critical enabler of service delivery and customer success. This role directly supports our mission by ensuring customers have timely access to high-quality parts, enabling reliable instrument performance and trusted analytical outcomes.


DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Product Manager, Global Parts will own the commercial performance and strategy for the spare parts portfolio across chromatography, mass spectrometry, and molecular spectroscopy instrument platforms. This role is accountable for driving growth, margin expansion, and lifecycle value through pricing, marketing, and portfolio strategy. As an individual contributor, this role operates with significant autonomy and cross-functional influence, partnering closely with Service, Commercial, Supply Chain, and R&D to execute a cohesive global parts strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own Business Performance 

- Drive global spare parts revenue and margin performance; monitor KPIs and lead actions to close gaps 

- Deliver regular business insights, forecasts, and growth plans 
- Utilize PPI and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., RCCM) to address business challenges


Lead Commercial & Marketing Strategy 
- Develop and execute global commercial and marketing plans to accelerate parts growth 
- Enable regional teams with clear value propositions, campaigns, and sales tools 
- Identify and scale growth levers (e.g., attach rates, installed base penetration, portfolio optimization)

 
Own Pricing Strategy 
- Define and implement global pricing strategy, including segmentation, price realization, and governance 
- Lead price optimization initiatives to balance competitiveness and profitability 

Drive Lifecycle & NPD Integration 
- Partner with R&D and product teams to embed parts strategy into new product development 
- Ensure readiness for launch, serviceability, and lifecycle support 

Enable Cross-Functional Execution 
- Align priorities across Service, Commercial, and Supply Chain to ensure execution of parts strategy 
- Act as the global point of accountability for parts-related initiatives 

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in product management, preferably in life sciences or related industry
• Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field
• Professional certifications in Product Management beneficial

• Strong understanding of aftermarket / service businesses within the analytical instruments, life science, or related technical industry
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and new product development processes

• Demonstrated experience managing business performance, pricing, or product portfolios 
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies that drive business growth
• Experience conducting market analysis, competitive intelligence, and customer research
• Proven record of successful product launches and commercialization
• Excellence in financial modeling, forecasting, and P&L management
• Effective cross-functional collaboration and influence skills in matrix environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences
• Proficiency with business software and tools (Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.)
• Experience with regulated products/environments preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25-30%
