Data Scientist II (Urology)
We are seeking a Data Scientist II in the department of Urology. The Data Scientist II will work to unite data using subject matter expertise relevant to the assigned area. The Data Scientist II will transform complex datasets into insights that can be used for decision-making and policy design. The Data Scientist II will participate in the development of data tools and resources and will conduct analysis to support the use of data. The Data Scientist II will work in collaboration with data visualization specialists, data engineers, data scientists, analysts, researchers, program managers, coaches, and other external collaborators and partners in support of a portfolio of data projects.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Design data modeling processes to build statistical and simulation models on complex data sets.
- Provide detail-oriented and organized analytics and models to transform data sets into meaningful insights to inform stakeholder decision making.
- Research best practices and state-of-the-art methodologies that can be applied in the assigned area.
- Identify data sets for modeling which lead to quantitative conclusions.
- Clean, assess quality and bias, explore, analyze, and visualize data.
- Document, share, and train others on your methods.
- Use subject matter expertise to coach data best practices.
- Train data analysts to learn how to use software tools to carry out analysis.
- Develop models and tools related to the use of data.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, data scientists, researchers, policy experts, and others.
- Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and vendors.
- Communicate with leadership, and others on the team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Seven years of relevant quantitative research and analytics experience, with at least two of those years including complex programming experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
