Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Shenzhen, China
Travel: Daily travel to supplier manufacturing sites required

InVue is looking for a highly motivated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality improvement initiatives across our manufacturing partners in Shenzhen and surrounding areas.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, creates a sense of urgency, and knows how to influence supplier teams to deliver results. You will play a critical role in supporting new product development, improving supplier performance, reducing quality risks, and ensuring products consistently meet InVue’s quality standards.

This position offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership. You will be trusted to make decisions, drive improvements, and partner directly with suppliers and InVue's engineering teams in both China and the United States.

Important Requirements

  • Must be fluent in Mandarin and English.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
  • Must be willing to travel to supplier facilities on a daily basis.
  • Must be comfortable working directly with both supplier leadership and InVue's U.S.-based Engineering and Product Development teams.

What You'll Do

Lead Supplier Quality Performance

  • Own and drive supplier quality performance metrics and improvement plans.
  • Hold suppliers accountable for meeting quality expectations and deadlines.
  • Identify quality issues, process gaps, and manufacturing risks before they impact production.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that improve product quality and reduce the cost of poor quality.
  • Conduct supplier audits and process reviews to ensure compliance with InVue requirements.

Support New Product Development (NPD)

  • Partner with Engineering and Project Management teams to ensure suppliers are prepared for new product launches.
  • Drive supplier readiness throughout the NPD process and ensure on-time completion of quality deliverables.
  • Verify manufacturing processes, test methods, control plans, work instructions, and inspection plans.
  • Review and validate prototype, pilot, and production builds.
  • Lead supplier production readiness activities and approve quality requirements before launch.

Reduce Supplier Risk

  • Facilitate NUDD+I Quality Risk Assessments and other risk management activities to identify and reduce supplier risk.
  • Use quality tools and data to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to closure using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Strengthen supplier quality systems and manufacturing controls to improve long-term performance.

Manage Quality Issues and Engineering Changes

  • Lead supplier implementation of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
  • Coordinate problem-solving efforts between suppliers and InVue teams.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and support failure analysis activities.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively and completed on time.

Support Inspection and Product Quality Activities

  • Partner with the Source Inspection team to improve product quality and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and product training for new product introductions.
  • Support inspection activities when needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5-15 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, or a related role.
  • Experience working directly with New Product Development (NPD) teams and contract manufacturers with specialties in power electronics
  • Strong ability to influence suppliers and drive results without direct authority.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including:
    • NUDD+I Risk Assessment
    • FMEA
    • Control Plans
    • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
    • Process Capability Studies
    • Gauge R&R
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Knowledge of IPC standards such as IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
