Principal Product Manager - Trade Management Solutions

  • Full-time

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the future direction of Transport Management Solutions within H&M Group’s global Supply Chain organization. This is a strategic, high-impact product role where you will shape how we plan, execute, connect, and optimize transport across our global retail operations.

You will step into a product area with significant transformation ahead. The ambition is to move from fragmented ways of working toward a more standardized, integrated, data-driven, and proactive transport management capability. Your work will help create clarity, strengthen decision-making, and enable scalable solutions that support our logistics network, transport partners, warehouses, and regional teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As Principal Product Manager for Transport Management Solutions, you will shape one of H&M Group’s most critical global supply chain capabilities. This is a rare opportunity to define the future of transport management across our global retail operations, helping us move toward a more standardized, integrated, data-driven, and proactive way of planning and executing transport.

You will own the product vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for Transport Management Solutions within the Transport & Trade area. The product scope includes a new Transport Management capability, Supplier & Transport Service Provider connectivity, and existing Transport B2B solutions, with the ambition to bring these into one coherent global product direction.

In this role, you will translate business needs, operational opportunities, and technology possibilities into a clear roadmap and prioritized backlog. You will assess business value, balance stakeholder requests, guide investment decisions, and ensure the product delivers measurable impact for transport planning, execution, partner connectivity, and operational visibility.

You will work closely with Engineering Managers, architects, business experts, and product teams to connect strategic direction with delivery. While this is an individual contributor role without direct people management responsibility, it carries significant influence across a complex global organization and requires strong leadership through clarity, alignment, and decision-making.

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap and success measures for Transport Management Solutions.

  • Prioritize product capabilities across SAP TM, partner connectivity, Transport B2B, and related transport management needs.

  • Build and maintain a clear development backlog based on business value, feasibility, dependencies and long-term product direction.

  • Partner with engineering and architecture to ensure scalable, reliable and future-ready solutions.

  • Engage with regional transport teams, logistics operations, warehouses, business stakeholders, and technology teams to understand needs and drive alignment.

  • Support the transition from fragmented and manual ways of working toward more integrated, standardized, and data-enabled transport management.

  • Act as a flagship product leader for Transport Management Solutions, creating clarity in an evolving product area and helping shape global rollout readiness.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Transport & Trade area within H&M Group’s Supply Chain domain. This area develops the business and technology capabilities that enable efficient, scalable, and value-driven transport and trade operations across international freight, domestic distribution, partner connectivity, and logistics execution.

You will work in close partnership with Engineering Managers in a co-leadership model. You will bring the product direction, business value perspective, prioritization, and roadmap ownership, while engineering leads delivery execution and technical implementation together with the teams.

Your closest collaborators will include software engineers, business experts, architects, service delivery colleagues, logistics specialists, regional transportation teams, warehouse teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders across business and technology.

The product area is still maturing, which means you will have the opportunity to build structure, create alignment, and influence how global transport management evolves at H&M Group. You will be joining a collaborative environment where product, engineering, and business teams work together to solve complex operational challenges at scale.

WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with...

  • Extensive product management experience, ideally as a Principal Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Director, Product Owner or similar role in a complex global environment.

  • Strong experience defining product vision, strategy, roadmap, success metrics, and prioritization principles for large-scale platforms or business-critical products.

  • Deep understanding of transport management, supply chain, logistics, retail operations, ERP transformation, or related B2B technology environments.

  • Experience with Transport Management Systems, SAP TM, SAP S/4HANA, ERP platforms, carrier or TSP connectivity, warehouse management, EWM, Multi-carrier shipping platforms, or logistics integration is highly valuable.

  • Proven ability to assess business value, shape business cases, manage dependencies, and make prioritization decisions in partnership with engineering and business stakeholders.

  • Experience working across agile and waterfall delivery environments, especially in transformation, rollout, or platform modernization contexts.

And people who are...

  • A strategic and outcome-focused product leader who can connect long-term vision with practical delivery.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, building structure and creating clarity in an evolving product area.

  • Confident influencing senior stakeholders and aligning different perspectives across a large global organization.

  • Collaborative, communicative, and able to build trust with business, technology, and operational teams.

  • Curious about how data, automation and emerging technologies can improve transport planning, execution and decision-making.

  • Motivated by scale, transformation and the opportunity to shape a product that will impact global supply chain operations for years to come.
