Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring raw materials, chemicals, and finished goods are received, stored, mixed, moved, and shipped safely and accurately. You will support production by maintaining an uninterrupted flow of materials, accurately preparing chemical mixtures according to established procedures, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring customer orders are shipped on time. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.

          Material handling

  • Receive, inspect, unload, and store incoming raw materials, chemicals, and production supplies.
  • Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production areas according to production schedules and work orders.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment.
  • Ensure all materials are properly identified, labeled, and stored in designated locations.
  • Accurately measure, weigh, and mix chemicals and raw materials according to approved formulas, batch sheets, and work instructions.
  • Safely handle industrial chemicals while following Safety Data Sheets (SDS), environmental requirements, and company procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a full-face respirator, gloves, and protective clothing, while performing chemical mixing operations.
  • Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas using 5S principles

    Inventory Control

  • Accurately record inventory transactions using the company's ERP or inventory management system.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material handling and storage practices.
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.

    Shipping & Receiving

  • Prepare customer shipments to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
  • Load outbound shipments safely and efficiently while packaging materials securely to prevent shipping damage.

    Safety & Teamwork

  • Follow all NOV safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Report safety concerns, damaged materials, or equipment issues promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work overtime and shift work as required

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Travel less than 10%       

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Three years of verifiable work history

• Experience in warehouse management

• Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and other light equipment.
