What You’ll Be Doing:

The Market Operations team owns and manages client relationships and is accountable for driving client performance through a cross-functional, matrixed operational structure.

Reporting to the SVP of Administrative Operations, the Managing Director of Market Operations will have dotted line oversight of client operational teams including claims, audit and recovery, enrollment, configuration, call center/customer service, finance, and utilization management, and is responsible for establishing operational client-focused time and priorities. This individual will also support functional leadership in planning and staffing for peak seasons, membership growth and other initiatives that may impact staffing. The Managing Director of Market Operations will be a highly client-facing role, serving as a trusted advisor and responsible for facilitating operational meetings, reporting on operational performance, and maintaining client service plans. This individual will also partner closely with IT, data operations, product, and project management teams to set priorities that are strategically aligned with the client’s goals. The Managing Director of Market Operations is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, State and Federal regulatory requirements for operations under their management. The Managing Director of Market Operations is a People Leadership role and will be responsible for setting direction of team including providing guidance, operational expertise, quality and timeliness oversight, and career development.

 

Who You’ll Be Working With:
The Managing Director of Market Operations works in a highly cross-functional capacity, including with key leaders and team members in Evolent’s operations teams. We are looking for a candidate with a strong entrepreneurial spirit to oversee a key strategic partnership for a Medicaid partner. This role will report to Evolent’s SVP of Administrative Services.


The Day-to-Day

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives for key health plan client.
  • Proactively assess, validate, and prioritize client needs while translating feedback into operational improvements, product enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, contractual requirements, and company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Plan, prioritize, direct, and schedule all projects and assignments ensuring all scheduled timelines are met.
  • Serve as trusted advisor and primary point of contact for client leaders; facilitate operational status meetings and communicate progress against service plans and other operational initiatives.
  • Monitor ongoing financial performance of the contract.
  • Monitor performance against service level agreements.
  • Coordinate service delivery across a matrixed operational model supporting many clients.
  • Provide technical guidance on problem definition and resolution.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, motivating, and developing a staff of highly skilled professionals.
  • Establish client quality objectives and benchmarks.
  • Provide the vision and leadership necessary to proactively identify and resolve operational deficiencies.
  • Adhere to all Evolent policies, procedures, and standards, within budgetary specifications, including time management, productivity, and accuracy of practice.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency
  • Support company-wide goals which contribute to the success of the organization
  • Serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of healthcare experience in health plan operations or strategic partnership management.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and present at all levels of the organization, including at the C-level.  Influence through effective stories to emphasize the value proposition of the partnership.
  • A tenacious partnership ethos with a relentless focus on follow through and maintaining trust
  • The intellectual curiosity to get to the bottom of client issues and opportunities and the willingness to roll up sleeves and work toward solutions

Technical Requirements:

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $150,000-160,000. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
