Job Description
Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health as an Inpatient Neurologist at Edward Hospital. The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient neurological care, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with a broad range of acute neurological conditions. Responsibilities include managing an average of 15–20 patients per day, cross-covering established inpatients, and evaluating new admissions from the Emergency Department.
Physicians collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care while utilizing the resources of a comprehensive neuroscience program. The position offers access to a dedicated Neuro Intensive Care Unit staffed by specially trained neuroscience nurses, along with advanced neurodiagnostic services including EEG, EMG, and Sleep Lab testing. Onsite Pain Management services further support coordinated patient care.
This role offers a balanced 7 on / 7 off schedule, physician autonomy, and strong clinical and administrative support within a highly collaborative environment.
Qualifications
License: Current Illinois Medical License (or eligible), Active DEA, and Illinois Controlled Substance License required.
Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO); successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Neurology residency
program.
Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology; Current ACLS (or specialty-specific advanced life support certification through the American Heart Association).
Experience: Current knowledge of evidence-based neurological care with the ability to effectively manage acute inpatient neurological conditions.
Special Knowledge and Skills Required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Neurologist.
- Strong clinical expertise in acute inpatient neurology.
- Ability to evaluate and manage stroke and general neurological conditions.
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with physicians, APPs, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prioritize patient care while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
