Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Consultant to join our Global Markets practice within our Strategy & Consulting group, specialising in Operations Transformation for investment banking clients. You will advise leading global banks and financial institutions on modernising their markets operations across asset classes including cash securities, derivatives, and OTC products — driving efficiency, regulatory compliance, and technology-led transformation.
This is a high-impact role at the convergence of capital markets domain expertise, cutting-edge technology (including AI), and large-scale change delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Global Markets Operations Transformation
- Lead and support transformation programs across front-to-back Global Markets operations, covering equities, fixed income, FX, rates, credit, and commodity products
- Advise clients on Target Operating Model (TOM) design, operating model optimisation, and process re-engineering across trade operations, settlements, and post-trade functions
- Identify and deliver efficiency opportunities across manual workflows, break management, reconciliation, and exception handling
- Support clients through technology migrations, platform consolidation, and vendor selection (e.g., Murex, GPTM, Calypso, Finastra, OpenGamma)
- Trade Lifecycle & Product Knowledge
- Demonstrate deep understanding of end-to-end trade lifecycle across asset classes: order management, execution, confirmation, clearing, settlement, and accounting
- Apply knowledge of cash securities (equities, bonds, repos), listed and OTC derivatives (IRS, CDS, FX forwards, equity swaps, structured products) across cleared and bilateral models
- Assess and redesign upstream and downstream processes including reference data management, static data governance, corporate actions, and collateral management
- Work across the trade lifecycle ecosystem — from front office systems and execution venues through to back-office settlement and accounting platforms
- Data, KYC/AML & Client Onboarding
- Advise on reference data strategy including instrument, counterparty, and legal entity data, covering data sourcing (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, DTCC), governance frameworks, and data quality management
- Support transformation of KYC/AML operating models, including onboarding workflows, periodic review processes, screening frameworks, and regulatory data obligations (LEI, EMIR, CFTC)
- Identify automation opportunities across onboarding, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring processes
- Systems & Technology Advisory
- Provide advisory support on implementation and optimisation of core capital markets platforms such as Murex (MX.3), GPTM, Calypso, DTCC / Broadridge / SmartStream etc.
- AI & Emerging Technology Use Cases: Identify, design, and support implementation of AI and machine learning use cases across Global Markets operations, including:
- Develop AI use case business cases, operating model implications, and responsible AI governance frameworks for regulated environments
- Regulatory & Compliance Advisory: Understanding of regulations with ability to translate regulatory change into actionable operational, data, and technology requirements
- Client Engagement & Delivery
- Engage directly with COOs, Chief Operating Officers, Heads of Operations, CTOs, and senior program sponsors at global Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks
- Structure and lead workstreams end-to-end — from current state diagnostics and business case development through to implementation oversight and benefits realisation
- Produce high-quality client deliverables: operating model blueprints, current state assessments, regulatory impact analyses, and technology roadmaps

Experience & Skills
Essential
- 3+ years of experience in financial services consulting, risk transformation, Treasury / ALM, credit risk, or related roles within banking and capital markets institutions.
- Deep domain expertise across one or more of the following areas: credit lifecycle transformation, underwriting frameworks, early warning systems, collections strategy, liquidity risk, balance sheet management, Treasury operations, or ALM.
- Proven ability to support or deliver transformation programmes involving operating model design, process improvement, governance enhancement, or implementation of risk, finance, or Treasury capabilities.
- Strong analytical foundation with experience in data-driven problem solving, scenario analysis, performance management, or risk and financial analytics.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and manage complex, multi-workstream engagements with clarity, structure, and commercial acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex business, risk, and Treasury concepts into concise, executive-ready narratives.
- Confident communicator with presence in senior stakeholder and C-suite settings
Preferred
- Hands-on understanding of trade lifecycle across at least two asset classes (e.g., rates derivatives + fixed income; equities + FX)
- Practical knowledge of at least one core capital markets platform (Murex, Calypso, Broadridge, SmartStream, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks (EMIR, MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, T+1, or Basel, SEBI)
- Experience of working in a project manager/ business analysts capability and experience of tooling to aid
Education Qualifications
Must have a Master’s Management Degree (MBA, PGDBM, MMS etc.). CFA / FRM / CFP / CWM / PRM or other industry-specific certification is an added advantage.
Preferred
- Experience in a Big 4 / Tier 1 consulting firm, investment bank COO function, or fintech serving capital markets
- Exposure to AI/ML or automation programmes within a regulated financial services environment
- Experience with agile delivery, business analysis, or programme management on technology transformation programmes
