Ford is seeking a Wheel and Tire Quality Engineer to support quality and warranty performance for wheels, tires, jacks, wheel trim, and related equipment. In this role, you will monitor field performance and analyze warranty data to identify emerging trends, quality concerns, and opportunities to improve customer satisfaction. You will work closely with product engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, service, and warranty teams to investigate issues, support root-cause analysis, track corrective actions, and communicate insights across the engineering organization.   • Monitor field performance for wheels, tires, jacks, wheel trim, and related equipment. 
  • Analyze warranty data to identify trends, emerging concerns, and opportunities to improve product quality and customer satisfaction. 
  • Investigate emerging quality issues and communicate findings, risks, and recommended actions to the broader engineering organization. 
  • Track progress of corrective actions and assess whether implemented solutions improve warranty performance. 
  • Support timely issue escalation and cross-functional problem-solving with product engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, service, and warranty teams. 
  • Develop clear reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights. 
  • Support root-cause analysis activities and continuous improvement projects. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data analytics, statistics, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in using data to identify trends and drive decisions. 
  • Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities and projects, and follow issues through to resolution. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables. 
  • Proficiency in using AI tools 

     

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Passion for automotive engineering 
  • Experience through coursework, internships, co-ops, projects, or prior roles involving quality, reliability, manufacturing, warranty, or data analysis. 
  • Experience working with large datasets or creating dashboards to communicate performance trends. 
  • Knowledge of quality-management concepts, including corrective actions, continuous improvement, and supplier or manufacturing quality. 
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis, root-cause analysis, or problem-solving methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, or 8D. 
  • Exposure to automotive wheel-and-tire systems, vehicle service, chassis components, or related equipment.
