About the Role
As a Team Lead – Medium Voltage you will be responsible to lead a team of application/electrical engineers engaged in the engineering of Medium Voltage (MV) Motor Control Center (MCCs), Switchgear and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), customizing as per customer requirement utilizing the AutoCAD tools, while providing engineering support to the manufacturing plants of RA. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of Global Engineering & Business Services group in India, catering to regional Rockwell Automation offices across the globe. It's a hybrid work environment working in 12:00pm to 9:00 pm shift located in Pune/Noida - India.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of MV application/electrical engineers – allocating and prioritizing work, managing workload and ensuring on-time delivery, high quality engineering and customer satisfaction
- Manage day-to-day execution of CTO/ETO projects within defined timelines, ensuring high quality engineering while leveraging standard and reusable engineering practices
- Serve as the technical escalation point and subject-matter expert for MV products (MV MCCs, MV Switchgear, MV Drives), providing robust technical solutions, addressing queries and resolving technical deficiencies
- Work closely with internal and external customers, and collaborate with global stakeholders across regions and time zones, to review requirements and deliver customized technical solutions that comply with electrical standards and Rockwell Automation's engineering practices
- Coordinate overall system integration activities, maintaining accurate documentation and fostering effective collaboration across teams and functions
- Drive capability development, continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing within the team – coaching engineers, building technical depth and supporting other initiatives
- Monitor team performance, quality metrics, resource utilization and project KPIs, reporting progress and risks to the Execution Manager
- Ensure strict adherence to international engineering standards (NEC, UL, CSA, IEC) by consistently applying them throughout order execution activities
The Essentials – You Will Have
- Bachelor's in Electrical / Electronics
- Relevant Experience of more than 8-10 years in Hardware Designing for Medium Voltage MCC / Switchgear, Electrical knowledge and Automation Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in leading and managing an engineering team
- Exposure of working in a global setup – collaborating with global stakeholders, customers and cross-functional teams across regions and time zones
- Strong domain expertise in Medium Voltage Drives, PLC & MCC System Designing
- Expertise of AutoCAD-Electrical software
- Thorough knowledge of DOL & S/D Starters, VFDs, Soft-Starters, Intelligent Motor Control, Safety Product's System Designing
- Knowledge of Electrical Components Selection, Busbar Calculation, Heat and Load Calculation
- In depth knowledge of International Standards used for Design and Manufacturing
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
- Field Installation & Commissioning experience on MV VFDs, MV Switchgear, PCC's, MCC's, PLC's & Instruments is preferrable
- Gone through complete project life cycle from design phase to commissioning
- Proven people-leadership skills – team building, mentoring, performance management and workload planning
- Good Command on SAP Documentation and Part Management
- Industry and application Knowledge, training skills, and familiar with Lean Six Sigma and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Principles.
- Experience with Creo software
- Experience on Panel Testing, I/O Testing and FAT
- Experience of managing or coordinating deliverables across a global / distributed engineering team is preferrable
