This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are within the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.
Let me tell you about the role
The Global Logistics organisation is embarking on a multi-year transformation aimed at improving logistics performance, resilience, visibility and cost competitiveness across a global network.
As Global Logistics Excellence & Programme Manager - Eastern Hemisphere, you will combine deep logistics expertise with programme leadership to drive strategic transformation across transportation, warehousing, marine & shipping, logistics planning, control tower development, network optimisation and logistics digitalisation.
You will serve as both a transformation leader and logistics subject matter expert, helping shape future logistics capabilities, operating models, processes, Key Performance Indicators and technology solutions across the Eastern Hemisphere.
Working closely with regional logistics teams, business leaders, procurement, finance, digital teams and external partners, you will lead the delivery of high-value transformation programmes while ensuring practical, scalable and operationally effective logistics solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced logistics professional who understands end-to-end logistics operations and has successfully led large-scale change and transformation initiatives within a global organisation.
What you will deliver
Programme Leadership & Execution:
- Lead a portfolio of global logistics transformation programmes and central initiatives.
- Develop coordinated programme plans, key deliverables, dependencies and delivery roadmaps.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in line with agreed benefits.
- Establish and maintain programme governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.
Logistics Excellence & Capability Development:
- Act as a subject matter expert across transportation, warehousing, marine & shipping operations.
- Support the development of global logistics standards, operating principles and industry standards.
- Drive harmonisation of logistics processes, Key Performance Indicators and performance management frameworks.
- Source opportunities to improve logistics cost, service, resilience, safety and sustainability performance.
- Support the development of future logistics capabilities, organisational models and technology roadmaps.
- Leverage external benchmarks and industry guidelines to continuously improve logistics performance
Portfolio Management:
- Lead the overall Logistics Excellence project portfolio and prioritisation process.
- Monitor project progress, risks, resource requirements and critical dependencies.
- Facilitate portfolio reviews with senior leadership and provide recommendations for decision-making.
- Drive consistency in project management standards, tools and methodologies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with senior supply chain, procurement, finance, digital and business partners globally.
- Align project objectives with broader business and supply chain strategies.
- Build positive relationships with external consultants, logistics service providers and technology partners.
- Prepare and present updates for executive leadership teams and governance forums.
Transformation & Change Management:
- Support organisational readiness and change-management activities.
- Embed new processes, systems and operating models.
- Ensure benefits realisation plans are established and tracked throughout programme lifecycles.
- Seek opportunities to improve project delivery efficiency and organisational capability.
Risk & Financial Management:
- Lead programme risk identification, mitigation and escalation processes.
- Monitor programme expenditure and investment performance.
- Track business benefits, savings delivery and value realisation commitments.
- Support investment cases and business case development for future initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote best practices in project and programme management.
- Introduce standardised tools, templates and governance processes.
- Collaborate to building a high-performing project management culture across the Global Logistics organisation.
What you will need to be successful
Essential Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain or operations roles within multinational organisations.
- Strong practical experience in transportation, warehousing, logistics planning, marine & shipping or end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale logistics transformation, digitalisation or operational excellence programmes.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects involving logistics operations, procurement, technology and commercial teams.
- Experience developing logistics strategies, operating models, Key Performance Indicators and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong partner management and executive communication skills.
- Experience leading external logistics service providers, consultants and technology partners.
- Strong financial and business discernment, including business case development and benefits tracking.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience implementing Transport Management Systems (TMS), Control Towers, visibility platforms or logistics digital solutions.
- Experience in logistics network optimisation, warehouse design or transportation strategy initiatives.
- Experience working across multiple geographical regions and complex logistics networks.
- Experience within 3PL/4PL/LSP, FMCG, lubricants, chemicals, consumer goods or industrial supply chains.
- Understanding of logistics procurement, carrier management and logistics cost optimisation.
Professional Certifications (Preferred):
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- Prince2
- MSP (Managing Successful Programmes)
- Agile / Scrum certification
