Business Unit Overview: Our Global Technical Services (GTS) organization is responsible for the safe, sustainable, and cost-effective construction, operation and maintenance of world-class facilities that enable the discovery, development and delivery of innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases. As part of GTS, the Capital and Facilities Portfolio team oversees strategic capital and facilities across the portfolio, including strategic site master planning, asset life cycle management, business case build and approval aligned to business and sustainability goals. In partnership with our Finance, Real Estate and executive stakeholders across BMS and in tandem with our Global Engineering and Project Delivery Team this role has the responsibility to build and oversee a balanced and best value capital portfolio that delivers compliant, reliable, and innovative technical solutions for projects and facility assets across the BMS network—prioritizing safety, speed, flexibility, and a patient-first mindset. The core focus areas are Strategic Capital Planning & Governance, Site Master Planning, and Reliable Asset Solutions. Position Summary: The Executive Director, Capital & Facilities Portfolio is a critical leadership position within the Global Technical Services (GTS) organization. Working closely with executive leadership across BMS, this position has responsibility for overseeing the capital allocation and approval of greater than $1B of annual capital spend, including all BMS Board-approved capital projects. The successful candidate will serve as the Product Development & Supply (PDS) process owner for the management of the BMS capital portfolio, inclusive of capital project budgeting, capital project prioritization/allocation, and approval. The role is complex, multifunctional, and multiregional, requiring effective engagement with key stakeholders across Global Finance, PDS, Commercial, R&D, and Cell Therapy organizations to enable impact at the BMS enterprise level in the short, medium, and long term. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the day-to-day management of the BMS capital portfolio across the budget and long-term financial plan (LTFP) timelines, ensuring BMS capital investment deliverables are met in an integrated, predictable, prudent, and value-focused manner * Leverage financial acumen to link project & portfolio outcomes to overall BMS performance, operating as the primary capital portfolio business partner to all business units * Lead partnerships with Finance, Global Real Estate, and key stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate delivery of all capital management deliverables, including business cases, strategic alignment, approvals, allocation, and reporting/forecasting * Build, manage, and optimize global capital management standards and processes across asset lifecycle & investment planning, facilities strategy & site planning, capital governance, external partner strategy, and...
