Licensed Veterinary Technician, Emergency Short Pump, VA Full Time LVT - ER Experienced Share Licensed Veterinary Technician Emergency (ER) (LVT) | $35/hr + shift differentialsLocation: Short Pump, VAFull-Time | 3x12s | Days and Overnights available$35/hr + shift differentials Looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician job where you can grow your skills in emergency and critical care?Join the Virginia Veterinary Centers, a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital, where you’ll build advanced ER/CC skills working hands-on with high-acuity cases while working at the top of your license, making a real impact every shift.Pay & Benefits for Licensed Veterinary Technicians$35/hour (based on experience and skills) Shift differentialsFull-time benefits include:Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) Paid Time Off CE Allowance + Free VetBloom (RACE-approved CE) accessVeterinary Technician scholarship opportunities VTNE and/or license reimbursement Uniform allowance Employee pet discount Disability & Life Insurance ScheduleThree 12-hour shifts Days (7a–7p) or Overnights (7p–7a) Weekends and holidays as neededVeterinary Technician ResponsibilitiesProvide high‑quality nursing care and monitoring for hospitalized patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and medical stability throughout their stay.Administer prescribed treatments, including medications, IV fluids, nutritional support, wound care, and physical therapy exercises as directed.Place and manage indwelling catheters, including central lines, PICC lines, peripheral catheters, and urinary catheters.Assist in placement and maintenance of intravenous catheters, nasogastric tubes, central lines, JP drains, thoracic tubes, and esophageal feeding tubes.Understanding and able to follow protocol when administering and documenting controlled substances administered to patients.Following proper OSHA protocols and ensure OSHA related trainings are conducted by designated timelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and team members.Collaborate with specialty services (Neurology, Surgery, Anesthesia, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology) to carry out care plans and facilitate ongoing diagnostics.Prepare patients for discharge, including review of at‑home care instructions and medication plans.Alert the DVM to any changes in patient status, including but not limited to pain levels, vital sign fluctuations, and unexpected clinical findings.QualificationsCertified, Registered, or Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) Emergency or critical care experience preferred Strong technical and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment Why choose VVC?VVC recognizes the struggles of veterinary professionals.
