Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a motivated and hands-on Warehouse Lead to support daily warehouse operations and help drive efficiency, accuracy, and safety throughout our distribution center. This role is ideal for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys leading by example, mentoring team members, and ensuring operational excellence.
As a Warehouse Lead, you will play a key role in inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving activities, and team support. You will also have the opportunity to step into a supervisory capacity when needed, making this an excellent position for individuals looking to grow their leadership career.
How you create impact
- Lead daily warehouse activities to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient operations.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify product counts, and process inventory using warehouse management systems and RF scanners.
- Operate material handling equipment to move, store, pick, stage, and load products.
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately while maintaining quality and GMP standards.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating concerns when appropriate.
- Train, coach, and support warehouse associates to ensure adherence to company procedures and safety standards.
- Assist supervisors with workflow coordination, productivity monitoring, and team communication.
- Step into a leadership role during supervisor absences to maintain operational continuity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
What we would like you to bring
- 2+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, pallet jack, or similar equipment) or the ability to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using warehouse management systems, scanners, and computer applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Experience training, mentoring, or providing guidance to team members is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety footwear.
