Job Description
As a Security Officer - Truck Yard Access in San Pedro, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and support a secure, welcoming environment for employees, drivers, and guests. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and help address security-related concerns. - Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, maintain entry records, and direct authorized personnel, deliveries, and vehicle traffic in accordance with site requirements.
- Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including entrances, loading docks, parking areas, and the business perimeter, while reporting unusual activity or conditions.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports, logs, and incident documentation while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized access.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
- Possess a Guard Card or license preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
