St Francis Hospital, a part of Trinity Health Mid Atlantic, is looking for an experience Endoscopy Scope Tech to join our team!
 

Shift: Full Time, 8 hours, 40 hours a week

Location: Wilmington, DE

An Endoscopy Technician is a health care provider whose patient care responsibility is to provide specific technical skills that assist the professional nurse and/or physician during the endoscopy procedure. As an Endoscopy Tech you will:

  • Prepares instrumentation, supplies, and equipment according to physician preference cards, manufacturer instructions for use (MIFU), and scheduled procedures.

  • Verifies the correct endoscope and specialty equipment are available and functioning properly prior to each procedure.

  • Maintains aseptic technique and preserves sterile fields during procedures requiring sterile components.

  • Inspects sterilization indicators, package integrity, and expiration dates before use to ensure sterility and patient safety.

  • Recognizes and maintains appropriate separation between sterile and non-sterile fields throughout procedures.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the safe operation, handling, and troubleshooting of GI instrumentation, endoscopes, and related equipment.

  • Performs endoscope cleaning, high-level disinfection, and handling in accordance with manufacturer instructions for use (MIFU), departmental policies, and regulatory standards.

  • Completes required safety checks to verify equipment functionality, processing effectiveness, and procedural readiness.

  • Wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including protective eyewear, in accordance with departmental and hospital safety policies.

  • Handles and disposes of sharps, biohazardous waste, blood, and other regulated medical waste in compliance with infection prevention and safety regulations.

  • Completes all endoscope reprocessing documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in accordance with departmental, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

  • Collects, labels, preserves, and transports patient specimens accurately in accordance with departmental policy, physician orders, and laboratory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • HSPA - CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) and CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor)

  • CBSPD - CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) and CFER (Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor)
