We're looking for a Bridge Inspector / Structural Asset Inspector to join our WA Bridges Business Group in Perth, supporting a diverse client base across Western Australia.
This opportunity would suit candidates from a range of backgrounds including bridge inspection, structural engineering, technical officer, geotechnical, asset management and infrastructure inspection disciplines. Whether you're already working in bridge inspections or looking to apply your transferable skills within a specialist bridges team, you'll be supported with mentoring, training and exposure to a diverse range of transport assets across Western Australia.

You'll be supported by an experienced team who are leaders in the field, with strong mentoring, structured training and exposure to a wide range of transport and infrastructure assets.
The role offers a balanced mix of site and office-based work, with travel across WA, in addition to technical reporting. The role also includes basic project management in the form of project planning and subcontractor management.

- Bridge inspection
- Structural engineering
- Technical officer roles
- Infrastructure and asset inspections
- Asset management
- Geotechnical engineering or geotechnical inspections
- Civil infrastructure projects
- Transport infrastructure
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Completing bridge inspections, including visual, non-destructive and intrusive inspection methods
- Identify defects and collect condition and inventory data in line with inspection standards
- Complete inspection reporting within project budgets and timeframes
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of safety management systems
- Operate access equipment such as elevated work platforms where required
- Assist with project management of inspection projects including project planning, inspection methodology development and subcontractor management
What you will bring to the team:
- Relevant qualifications and/or practical experience in bridge inspection, structural engineering, asset management, technical officer, geotechnical or infrastructure inspection disciplines.
- Main Roads WA Level 2 inspector accreditation preferred but not essential (similarly ARRB Level 2 training)
- An understanding of asset inspection techniques and sound report-writing and communication skills
- A sound understanding of Work health and safety principles
- High levels of self‑discipline, initiative and motivation
- Ability to work effectively in a small, supportive team across varying work environments from remote sites to office
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
The successful candidate must also be willing to undergo a Railway Category 3 Medical, to be discussed during interview.
Mandatory Requirements
- WA C Class Driver’s Licence (Manual would also be advantageous)
- Construction White Card
