About us

Finan Pte Ltd is a fintech company on a mission to make it easier for businesses to run and grow. We build AI-powered solutions that connect growth, operations, finance, suppliers, and partners — helping businesses work smarter, grow faster, and enabling partners to serve them more efficiently.

Our two flagship products reflect this vision:

SoBanHang is the #1 business app in Vietnam that helps shop owners manage sales, inventory, receivables, and digital financial tools - all from a mobile phone.

FinanOne - a finance and accounting platform that helps SMEs automate their banking, cash flow, and accounting operations.

To date, Finan has supported over 650,000 businesses and processed more than $3 billion in annual transactions, with an average app rating of 4.8★ from over 60,000 users.

About the role

You own product quality end-to-end for Sổ Bán Hàng — a POS & business-management platform used daily by tens of thousands of Vietnamese merchants — and for our partner-facing products (Shinhan Merchant App and others).

This is a hands-on leadership role, not a pure management one. You will personally test, automate, and debug, while also setting the quality bar for the team, owning the QA process, and being the person Dev, Product, CS, and partners come to when they need a call on "is this ready to ship."

Responsibilities

Quality ownership & leadership

Own the QA strategy and roadmap: test approach per release, risk-based prioritization, definition of done, release quality gates

Lead, mentor, and grow a small QA team (currently Middle QC + QA/QC Intern) — code/test reviews, skill development, hiring participation

Act as the release gate owner: sign off on releases, and say no when quality does not clear the bar

Ensure thorough test coverage across features, workflows, and edge cases

Run blameless postmortems for production incidents and turn findings into regression coverage

Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies

AI mindset & automation (must-have)

Treat automation as the default and manual testing as the exception — build and own automated suites across UI, API, and E2E

Design and drive an AI-assisted QA workflow: AI-generated test cases from requirements, smart regression selection, LLM-based checks for chat/AI product surfaces, automated triage and summarization of defects

Build internal tooling and automation (scripts, workflows, CI jobs) that removes repetitive QA work — measure and report the time saved

Own quality gates in CI/CD: automated tests running on every pipeline, with meaningful pass/fail signals rather than ignored red builds

Continuously evaluate new AI/testing tools and make adoption calls

Customer view — UX & real user experience

Test as a merchant, not as a tester: validate real business workflows end-to-end (selling, inventory, debt book, e-invoice, tax, payments), not just isolated features

Be an active advocate for user experience — proactively raise UI/UX friction, confusing flows, and unclear error states as first-class quality issues, not "nice to have" notes

Use production signals to direct testing effort: CS tickets, user feedback, chatbot conversations, crash and error logs — the bugs users actually hit deserve priority over the ones only test cases find

Partner with Product/Design on requirement review and pre-release UX walkthroughs; catch problems at the requirement stage where they are cheapest to fix

Consider accessibility, low-end Android devices, and poor-network conditions — that is the reality of our user base

Partnership handling

Serve as QA point of contact for partners (Shinhan and others): agree on test scope, environments, test data, and acceptance criteria

Plan and run joint/UAT testing cycles with partner teams; own the defect loop across two organizations, including escalation when a partner-side bug blocks us

Communicate quality status, risks, and go/no-go recommendations to partner stakeholders in clear, professional English

Contribute to and enforce quality commitments in partner agreements (SLA on defect response and resolution)

Coordinate with internal Compliance on quality evidence needed for PCI DSS / ISO 27001 audits.

Requirements

Experience

5+ years in QA for web and mobile applications, including 1+ year leading or mentoring a QA team (formal title not required — demonstrated ownership counts)

Solid command of SDLC & STLC — able to contribute from requirement analysis through release validation and post-release monitoring

Strong grasp of testing methodologies: Agile/Scrum, shift-left, risk-based testing

Hands-on API testing (Postman, REST/GraphQL)

Track record of owning quality metrics and improving them with evidence

Technical

Test automation with modern frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium — built and maintained a suite, not just run one

Mobile testing with Appium or equivalent; working knowledge of iOS & Android (device fragmentation, OS-specific behaviors)

Proficient in at least one language: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java

CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) — running and maintaining tests in pipelines

SQL for test-data validation and defect investigation

Test management & bug tracking tools (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar)

Demonstrated use of AI tools in real QA work — be ready to walk us through what you built, what it replaced, and what it actually saved

Soft skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; able to isolate root cause, not just report symptoms

English good enough to run a working session with a partner team

Clear written and verbal communication — bug reports a developer can act on without a follow-up question

Comfortable holding the quality line under release pressure, and doing it without friction

Ownership mindset: sees quality as a business outcome, not a checklist

Nice to have

Experience in fintech, POS, e-invoice, or payments — or any domain where a bug costs someone money

Performance testing (k6, JMeter, Locust)

Security testing fundamentals (OWASP Top 10 awareness); exposure to PCI DSS or ISO 27001 environments

Workflow automation tools (n8n or similar) applied to QA

Docker / containerized test environments

Experience testing AI/LLM-powered product features (chatbots, AI agents) — including how to evaluate non-deterministic output

Why You'll Love Working Here

Comprehensive benefits — Lunch & parking allowance, and additional support

Attractive compensation — Competitive salary (negotiable) with performance-based bonuses

Real ownership — You own quality for the whole product, with direct access to leadership and room to make the calls

Exciting start-up environment — Work with experienced leaders in a fast-paced, innovative team

Career growth — Take on new challenges, sharpen your skills, and make a real impact.
