Job Description:

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Security Specialist – PHYSEC to join the F-35 program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio.

The F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) leads life-cycle management of the F-35 Lightning II, the fifth-generation joint strike fighter serving the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Cooperative Program Partners (CPP), and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers across multiple classification levels — including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Special Access Programs (SAP), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). The F-35 JPO Security Directorate provides full-spectrum, multi-disciplined security support to protect F-35 technology and information across the enterprise and throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle, spanning Continental United States (CONUS) and overseas operations globally.

The role of the Security Specialist – Physical Security (PHYSEC) (Senior) is to provide SME-level guidance and senior-level interface for Physical Security (PHYSEC) functions supporting the F-35 JPO at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio, including visitor control operations, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) accreditation support, and Site and Ship Activation Management Plan (SSAMP) activities:

  • Maintain databases of classified visits, clearance levels, and accesses for all assigned personnel and visitors at the WPAFB performance location
  • Receive, transmit, and file visit requests for assigned personnel and visitors for WPAFB facilities and other assigned locations
  • Verify security clearance and program access to issue and account for visitor and permanent personnel badges
  • Sign in and maintain visitor access utilizing secure electronic capabilities
  • Escort un-cleared personnel in JPO and Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) spaces as required
  • Process all required JPO and AFMC in-processing documents and forms
  • Advise and assist the Government with guidance and documentation to facilitate DoD and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) compliance for secure facility construction at WPAFB
  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining facility accreditation under direction of the Special Security Officer (SSO), Program Security Officer (PSO), or designated U.S. Government personnel
  • Support all JPO SSAMP activities as directed, including coordination with WPAFB-based Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) personnel

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Security Management or a related discipline, OR Bachelor's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience in physical security
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience performing PHYSEC functions for DoD programs, including SCIF/SAPF accreditation support, visitor control operations, and secure facility management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and ICS 705-1, Physical and Technical Security Standards for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities
  • Experience with Air Force physical security programs and AFMC installation security requirements preferred
  • Top Secret/SAR/SCI clearance required

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
