About The Role
As a Datacentre Electrical Technician at Nscale, you will be a vital member of our infrastructure operations team, responsible for ensuring the maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency of our heavy electrical systems. In this role, you will oversee the hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and scaling of low-to-high voltage power distribution systems that fuel our cutting-edge AI and high-performance computing (HPC) data centers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of heavy electrical engineering and next-generation tech deployment in Europe's fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets.
What You'll Be Doing
Your core responsibilities will be centered around maintaining absolute operational excellence and physical plant reliability:
- Operate and maintain HV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS equipment, busway systems, PDUs, battery systems and associated monitoring equipment.
- Perform planned preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance.
- Respond to alarms using DCIM, EPMS and BMS systems.
- Execute approved SOPs, MOPs and EOPs.
- Support commissioning, energisation and Integrated Systems Testing.
- Perform inspections, thermal imaging and condition monitoring.
- Work under PTW, LOTO and RAMS procedures.
- Maintain maintenance records, switching logs and asset documentation.
- Supervise specialist contractors.
- Promote safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
- Escalate complex issues and collaborate closely with external high-voltage specialists, contractors, and utility partners during major maintenance windows.
Health, Safety and Compliance
Ensure that all work and processes follow Local and Global Health and Safety performance criteria
- Comply with NEK 400, FSE, DSB requirements and site Electrical Safety Rules.
- Follow PTW, LOTO and isolation procedures.
- Report hazards and incidents.
- Support ISO 27001 and ISO 45001 compliance.
About You
We are looking for a safety-first, technically sound expert who thrives in fast-paced operational environments.
Requirements & Technical Skills:
Essential:
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
- Experience in industrial or critical environments.
- Knowledge of transformers, switchgear, UPS and generators.
- Ability to interpret single line diagrams.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
Desirable:
- Data centre experience.
- Change Control management processes
- HV Authorised Person or willingness to train.
- Experience with DCIM/BMS/EPMS.
- Arc Flash, First Aid and Working at Height training.
- Experience with Schneider, Eaton, Vertiv, ABB or Siemens systems.
- Experience with cooling systems
