Manager, QA

Leads Netsmart’s QA teams in delivering high‑quality SaaS solutions by guiding testing practices, optimizing operational metrics, and driving cross‑functional collaboration to ensure consistent, efficient, and scalable quality outcomes across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to QA Engineers and QA Leads
• Maximize the capability and capacity of QA resources to deliver high‑quality solutions on time and within scope for SaaS-based product lines.
• Oversee day‑to‑day QA delivery ensuring adherence to defined QA methodologies, quality standards, and architectural guidance from QA Architecture leadership.
• Partner closely with Engineering, Release Management, Security, and Compliance to ensure seamless delivery, improved product quality, and alignment on quality gates, SDLC processes, and release readiness.
• Identify opportunities to practice and champion continuous improvement through project execution, productivity assessments, automation gains, and other metric‑driven insights.
• Manage and report on operational QA metrics including defect trends, test coverage, cycle time, escape rate, regression completeness, resource utilization, risk, and mitigation strategies.
• Make timely and effective decisions to ensure QA teams continue moving forward while balancing current and future roadmap objectives.

This position may require availability outside of standard business hours as part of a rotational on‑call schedule.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of QA/testing experience, including manual, automated, or hybrid testing for SaaS‑based solutions.
• At least 3 years of large, complex project management or project delivery experience within software development or QA.
• At least 2 years of experience leading QA staff, including coaching, performance support, or leading team leads.
• At least 2 years of experience with full lifecycle development and Agile methodologies.
• Experience reading and interpreting business requirements and creating/reviewing test plans, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Release Management, Security, and Compliance.
• Ability to operate in regulated environments with understanding of HIPAA and/or FDA compliance considerations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous quality improvement.

Preferred

• Experience with SaaS-based platforms spanning web, mobile, and API/service layers.
• Familiarity with automation concepts, CI/CD quality gates, and test management processes.
• Experience coordinating or maturing QA practices across distributed or hybrid teams.
