The Opportunity
The Release Manager will be supporting the R&D Product Development Program Manager (PDPM), ensuring the successful delivery of R&D program requirements to the Project. This role will coordinate activities required by the Enterprise Software R&D team, as directed by the PDPM, partnering with the R&D leader and other project stakeholders to ensure development efforts are properly planned, executed, and monitored. Responsibilities may include (but are not be limited to) supporting scope and capacity planning, branching strategy / management, scheduling and alignment of Project deliverables specific to Jone of our strategic projects, and partnering with the QA team for planning and monitoring of defect resolution. This position will support alignment of project goals with organizational objectives as well as contributing to continuous improvement in project delivery processes and, specifically, in product documentation required for the project. Position may also include project status and KPI monitoring and reporting.
How you'll make impact
Manage documentation requirements and facilitate quality reviews and approvals for successful delivery of both internal and customer-facing documentation required for Project
Support JIEMS software development projects end-to-end and alignment to Project requirements, business objectives, and technical constraints.
Supporting program planning and execution across the SDLC (requirements, design, build, test, security reviews, release).
Ability to create and manage/monitor product branching strategies jointly with R&D release management stakeholders
Partnering with R&D functional leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to facilitate timely decision-making and conflict resolution to keep assigned deliverables on track.
Provide support for status and KPI reporting, change control, and quality requirements using tools such as Azure DevOps/Jira, Confluence, and other tools as applicable.
Support collaborations regarding scope prioritization tradeoffs and sequencing to meet committed delivery dates.
Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate program risks and issues (technical, schedule, security, compliance), escalating with options and recommendations in collaboration with PDPM.
Contribute to continuous improvement through retrospectives, root-cause analysis, and workflow optimization to increase delivery predictability, reduce defects, and improve team effectiveness in collaboration with PDPM.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment) required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, or equivalent role in leading cross-functional teams in a development environment, required.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects and programs.
Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies and Software Release process requirements
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in project management software and related tools for management of software development projects (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, etc.).
