Shift: 1st

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-4am

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Ensure that goods are shipped most efficiently following documented processes, while targeting cost reduction, freight savings, service and contractual agreements.

• Communicate with brokers, warehouse staff and manufacturing personnel to ensure customers’ expectations are met.

• Execute daily shipping schedule through the utilization of people, material, equipment and processes to meet customer requirements, meet compliance expectations and achieve cost objectives.

• Provide exceptional customer service through developing good working relationships with required functional groups.

• Complete daily shipments for invoicing.

• Process shipping documentation (i.e. shipping labels, BOLs).

• Assist in resolving shipment issues, including: no show/late issues with carriers, freight not fitting on a trailer/overflows, missing freight, anticipate/proactively manage potential late shipments, swiftly resolve past due shipments.

• Manage the appointment log.

• Monitor TMS portal.

• Maintain and organize records, files and data.

• Request LTL rates and tender LTL shipments.

• Must follow established Standards of Work.

• Assist and support Lead Shipping Coordinator and Warehouse Operations Manager.

• Answer phones; log and transfer calls.

• Respond to internal and external customer emails.

• Greet and check in visitors.

·   Able to work overtime as needed to support business needs or special projects.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Maintain basic knowledge of logistics and warehousing processes and capabilities.

• Maintain a working knowledge of all office functions to serve as a backup when needed.

• Ability to comprehend and interpret standard work instructions or ISO procedures.

• Possess a strong customer service orientation and provide dedicated support of internal and external customer requirements.

• Able to effectively communicate with various audiences, both on the phone and in person. 

• Ability to follow specific instructions.

• Excellent listening skills.

• Work cohesively with others while able to manage multiple deadlines.

• Detail-oriented, well organized and self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision.

• Previous warehouse clerical experience needed.

• High sense of urgency.

• Basic problem solving aptitude.

Experience and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED; minimum one year of logistics clerical experience or customer service.

• Working knowledge of stocking systems and stock control.

• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge and experience with operations and logistics processes.

• Persistence and initiative to overcome obstacles.
