Quality engineer EUV factory
Introduction to the role
An interesting position for a Quality engineer who feels challenged in improving overall product quality, mitigating shopfloor disturbances and driving preventive measures which lead to shorter lead-times, higher production efficiency, cost improvements and a ‘short time to market’ for Production.
The Quality Engineer supports the NXE-EXE production by preventing disturbances caused by products and product handlings, mitigates shopfloor disturbances by swift containment actions, prevents re-occurrence through Root Cause Analyses and consequently drives the preventive measures to optimize efficiency for the production and so ultimately contributing to our end customer’s satisfaction.
Role and responsibilities
As EF (EUV Factory) ENG (Engineering) QE (Quality Engineer) you mainly focus on handling the MN’s (Material Notifications) after a shopfloor disturbance. From early investigation to embedded preventive measures at suppliers or within our own organization, you drive the improvements from a preventive mindset. All disturbances that occur during execution have to be analyzed and prioritized, to have a successful follow-up at the right solving party with the right solving and preventive actions. Some issues you can solve yourself, other issues have to be ‘sold’ to other parties where your interpersonal skills come to use. You can convince others how they can help the factory and you know how to maneuver around in our field of stakeholder's. About half of your time you can find yourself on the production floor in the Clean Room, performing your initial investigations (with related stakeholders) and do your Gemba’s.
The main tasks of a QE:
• Process the MN’s administratively
• Initial disturbance investigation to assign the correct Source of Cause
• Validate the containment action
• Initiate and Validate (if applicable) Vendor’s suggested RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
• Connect with the ASML and-or Vendor’s organization to drive and validate the preventive measure
The team:
The recently reformed GMF-EF-ENG-QE team is the spider in the web in the MN process, ensuring solving power for shopfloor disturbances. In a team of approx. 18 direct colleagues plus 7-8 closely related QAL’s (Quality Account Leads) you will find yourself being adopted swiftly in a diverse and safe space to be yourself and get the best from yourself, and where you can bring in your knowledge towards our own work processes for continuous improvements. You will find your close-by support in our department coming from a.o. PE’s (Production Engineers). The team plays a central role, driving the best possible results, in a dynamic cross-departmental world connecting to D&E, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics and Vendors. Where the talk on Quality is getting louder, you can be a QE delivering it.
Education and experience
Master or Bachelor level in quality management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Automotive or Aviation Engineering or other related area.
Theoretical knowledge by training and certification on quality principles, as well as minimum 2-3years active experience in the field of production and-or suppliers Quality Assurance is requested.
Lean-Six Sigma knowledge and experience is a considered a strong plus.
