Job Description & Summary

Data Visualization Specialist with hands-on experience transforming complex datasets into compelling, actionable, and value-driven visual insights.
The ideal candidate has advanced experience in Sigma, along with strong visualization, SQL, and data storytelling skills. This role requires the ability to design interactive dashboards, integrate data from Snowflake and other sources, and build governed reporting experiences.
The candidate should be able to go beyond dashboard creation by understanding the business problem, designing insight-led experiences, enabling self-service analytics, and ensuring that visualizations are intuitive, performant, and aligned to measurable business outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, workbooks, and reports using Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent BI platforms, with a strong preference for advanced Sigma expertise.
• Translate complex business requirements into intuitive, value-driven visual solutions that support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with business, analytics, and data teams to understand data needs, reporting challenges, user journeys, and decision workflows.
• Develop advanced Sigma workbooks including datasets, controls, parameters, input tables, actions, drill paths, linked analysis, and governed self-service reporting experiences.
• Build and support Sigma integrations with Snowflake and other relevant data sources and tools to deliver scalable and secure analytics solutions
• Develop and optimize data models, calculated fields, metrics, and reusable reporting structures to support business consumption
• Write and optimize SQL queries to prepare and validate datasets feeding into BI dashboards.

PRIMARY SKILLS

• Advanced Sigma Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Sigma including workbook development, datasets, controls, parameters, input tables, actions, drill-downs, data modelling, security, integrations, and performance tuning.
• BI Tools Expertise: 5+ years of experience with Sigma, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent BI platforms, with proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade dashboards and reports.
• Data Storytelling: Proven ability to design visually compelling dashboards that communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Value-Driven Insight Design: Ability to understand business problems, identify decision points, and design analytics experiences that drive measurable business outcomes.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and preparation to support the visualization layer.
• Snowflake / Cloud Data Platforms: Experience querying, modelling, and consuming data from Snowflake or equivalent cloud data warehouses.
• Data Modelling for Reporting: Ability to design semantic / reporting models, calculated fields, and reusable metrics optimized for BI consumption.
• Dashboard Performance Optimization: Experience improving dashboard load times, query efficiency, workbook design, and user experience.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; confident presenting insights, recommendations, and design rationale to senior stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to resolve complex data, visualization, and stakeholder challenges under pressure.

SECONDARY SKILLS (DESIRABLE)

• Experience in Banking or Financial Services domain.
• Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Glue) and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Python or R for data preparation, automation, or analysis.
• Exposure to data governance, cataloging, metadata management, or lineage tools.
• Experience with row-level security, entitlement-based reporting, access controls, and governed self-service analytics.
• Working knowledge of dbt or semantic modelling approaches to better align visualization layers with curated data models.
• Experience working with Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation.
