About this opportunity

Our mission in Ericsson Estonia's Strategy & Transformation department, Data & AI Solutions team, is to build and evolve enterprise-wide data platforms that power Ericsson's digital transformation and Industry 4.0 ambitions. We design scalable, secure data platforms that connect IoT devices, hardware and business systems across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, enabling trusted data for advanced analytics and AI solutions.

We are looking for a Data Architect to join our Data & AI Solutions organization. In this role, you will take senior technical responsibility for designing and implementing our data platform architecture and implementation, working hands-on to build scalable, resilient solutions while collaborating with global teams and mentoring junior engineers.

What you will do:

  • Design and build enterprise-scale data platforms, taking end-to-end ownership of data integration, transformation pipelines and platform components across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Architect and implement highly scalable, resilient and cost-efficient data solutions using modern cloud technologies and tools, with hands-on involvement in platform development.
  • Make informed technology decisions by evaluating different architectural approaches and tools against specific business requirements, understanding the broader technology landscape and trade-offs.
  • Implement data governance frameworks, standards and policies for data quality, lineage, security and regulatory compliance, aligned with the company’s reference architecture and modern best practice
  • Challenge assumptions and poor solutions, bringing critical and systems thinking to identify root causes and focus on solutions that create genuine business value.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other data engineers, fostering strong engineering practices and architectural thinking.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable platform designs, presenting trade-offs clearly.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, optimized data delivery and enhanced tooling that increases efficiency and reduces operational overhead.

You will bring:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and data platform architecture, with proven ~~~~ experience delivering of enterprise-level data solutions in production environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in designing and implementing scalable data platforms, with strong fundamentals in data engineering ~~,~~ data modelling ~~~~ and software architecture.
  • Experience with DataOps and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, policy as code, automated testing and deployment, and environment management
  • Strong proficiency with modern data stack technologies ideally including hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure and Snowflake, and transformation frameworks such as dbt or equivalent tools.
  • Extensive experience building data pipelines, data integration solutions and implementing workflow orchestration tools in production environments.
  • Practical experience with hybrid and multi-cloud data platforms, including cross-cloud integration, secure connectivity, data replication, disaster recovery, workload placement, and data residency requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and systematically about complex problems -analyzing trade-offs, challenging assumptions and distinguishing real problems from noise.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English, with proven capability to explain technical concepts clearly and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to evaluate different technology approaches objectively rather than defaulting to a single stack.

We offer:

  • A senior technical role where you take technical responsibility for the design and implementation of enterprise data platforms with meaningful business impact.
  • Opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges and see tangible results in scalable data solutions across the organization.
  • A collaborative technical environment within the Strategy & Transformation department, partnering with skilled engineers globally.
  • Competitive compensation package with participation in company award programs.
  • Work & life balance, comprehensive benefits, and strong support for professional growth including training and certifications in cloud and data engineering.

Please note, only local (Estonia based) applicants will be considered as there is no relocation on offer.

We welcome all applications until 25th August 2026.
