Regional Sales Manager

Matrix designs, manufactures, and sells innovative technological products that help keep people safe. Originally focused on the underground coal mining industry, Matrix has expanded into new industrial markets in the United States and globally.

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales activities within your designated targets. Initially, you will work independently, focusing on establishing a strong market presence and customer base. You will leverage your technical solutions expertise in a B2B setting to build lasting partnerships and ensure the success of both the company and its customers. This position is based out of our Lexington, KY office.

This position reports to the Vice President of Industrial Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies for targets assigned.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with key customers.
  • Promote our products and values including at industry events.
  • Develop and utilize CRM tools like Salesforce or Oracle for tracking sales activities and managing customer interactions, manage customer interactions, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Educate customers, customize solutions to their needs, and guide them confidently through the sales process.
  • Perform product presentations, install demonstration units, and provide reporting on product findings.
  • Enjoy the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals and following up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify additional opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and support, ensuring the success of the entire sales team and the company.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven success selling technical B2B solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or Oracle preferred).
  • Strategic, data-driven, and customer-focused sales professional.
  • Skilled at developing new business and growing existing accounts.
  • Collaborative team player with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of the Teach, Tailor, and Take Control sales methodology.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel 3-4 days per week within the assigned territory.

    Working Conditions

    • This is an in-person position with up to 50% travel.
