<p>We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist II with strong expertise in cell biology and hands-on experience in advanced <em>in vitro</em> models to support the development and execution of cutting-edge Organ-Chip studies in the neuroscience area. <p><span style="color: #00a9da"><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong><strong style="font-family: inherit"> </strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Experimental Design &amp; Execution
<ul>
<li>Independently design, prepare, and execute Organ-Chip experiments aligned with program and study objectives.</li>
<li>Apply strong cell biology and sterile cell culture skills to reliably seed, maintain, and monitor Organ-Chip systems.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot experimental challenges and contribute to continuous refinement of model performance.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Technical Expertise &amp; Laboratory Operations
<ul>
<li>Operate and develop proficiency with advanced laboratory technologies, including:
<ul>
<li>Imaging modalities (phase contrast, fluorescence, live-cell, confocal)</li>
<li>Gene expression platforms</li>
<li>Molecular and protein expression assays</li>
<li>Flow cytometry</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Contribute to the improvement of laboratory workflows, SOPs, and best practices.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of protocols, assays, data, and analysis methods.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Scientific Rigor &amp; Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Participate in peer review of study designs, data analyses, and interpretations to ensure scientific quality.</li>
<li>Analyze, organize, and present data with clarity and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Prepare content for internal and external presentations, technical reports, and scientific publications.</li>
<li>Communicate results, study progress, and future directions effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners or customers.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #00a9da"><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong><strong style="font-family: inherit"> </strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Undergraduate degree (BA or BS) with 2-3 years lab experience or MS with 1-2 years lab experience, ideally within a neuroscience laboratory</li>
<li>Prior experience working with mammalian cell cultures or stem cells with knowledge of sterile cell culture technique</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot problems, and provide possible solutions</li>
<li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team</li>
<li>Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to exercise good time management and prioritize tasks while successfully managing multiple tasks simultaneously</li>
<li>Knowledge of statistics, cell/molecular biology or building <em>in vitro</em> models that replicate aspects of disease is highly desirable</li>
</ul>

<p>This position is based on site in Boston, MA. Candidates must currently reside in the greater Boston area and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. Emulate is not able to provide visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this role.</p>

<li>Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience</li>
<li>Annual Bonus: Performance-based bonus opportunity, up to 20% of base salary</li>
