Job Description:

  • Assists nurses in providing patient care and support during the second stage of labor. 

  • Scrubs in as 1st or 2nd scrub for cesarean sections and assists in positioning, preparation, and draping procedures.

  • Provides bedside patient care including vital signs, blood sugars, newborn baths, feeding, and repositioning.

  • Sets up procedure/operating room with correct instruments and supplies for cesarean sections and circumcisions under the direction of the circulating nurse or OR scrub tech.

  • Identifies unsafe or defective instruments/equipment and implements appropriate actions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to function as surgical scrub during cesarean sections Required

Education:

  • Associate Preferred

  • High School Grad or Equiv Required

  • Technical/Vocational School Required

Field of Study:

  • Graduate from school of surgical technology or equivalent (e.g., military training program)

Work Experience:

  • 1+ experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required

Pay Range:

$15.31 - $24.49
