Job's mission
As a Senior Engineer I, Total Product Support (TPS) at ASM, you will serve as a key technical expert supporting the successful deployment, optimization, and long-term performance of ASM semiconductor equipment. Working closely with Product Engineering, Field Service, Manufacturing, and Customer teams, you will provide advanced technical leadership for complex equipment challenges, new site start-ups, and customer escalations. This role offers the opportunity to drive customer success while contributing directly to the continuous improvement of ASM products and technologies in a highly collaborative global environment.
What you will be working on
- Lead advanced troubleshooting activities involving mechanical, electrical, software, vacuum, gas delivery, and process-related equipment issues.
- Support customer site start-ups, tool qualification, and production ramp activities to ensure successful deployment of ASM equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for critical customer and field escalations.
- Act as a technical interface between Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Field Service, and customers to resolve complex system-level challenges.
- Lead beta evaluations, product upgrades, and engineering validation activities at customer sites.
- Develop and execute action plans to improve equipment performance, reliability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Mentor Field Service Engineers and junior support engineers through technical coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Prepare technical reports, troubleshooting documentation, and best practice guides to support global service organizations.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and field readiness programs.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, process engineering, product engineering, or technical support roles.
- Strong experience in semiconductor capital equipment troubleshooting and system-level problem solving.
- Proven ability to perform structured root cause analysis and drive issues to resolution.
- Experience supporting customer-facing technical activities and managing complex escalations.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
What sets you apart
- Experience with ALD, CVD, PECVD, EPI, or other advanced semiconductor deposition technologies.
- Prior experience in Product Support, Total Product Support, Systems Engineering, Equipment Engineering, or New Product Introduction (NPI) functions.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and customer fab operations.
- Experience leading equipment installation, qualification, startup, or technology transfer projects.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor technical teams and develop field engineering capabilities.
- Experience working directly with global customers and cross-regional engineering organizations.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong English communication skills with the ability to present technical topics to customers and global stakeholders.
