Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Salesforce deployment management, Copado, CI/CD automation, source control, and release governance. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of experience supporting Salesforce releases across multiple environments, with mandatory experience in Salesforce metadata deployments, troubleshooting recurring deployment issues, and driving reliable DevOps execution. Salesforce development experience is good to have, but the primary focus of this role is deployment excellence, automation, release management, and environment readiness.

Basic Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent ) with 5–8 years of experience on the Salesforce platform, with a focus on DevOps, release management, and CI/CD implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API, and source-driven Salesforce development/deployment models.
• Strong working knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Copado, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket).
• Deep understanding of sandbox strategy, source-driven development, branching strategies, and release governance.
• Familiarity with Salesforce deployment models, including Change Sets, Unlocked/Managed Packages, and Metadata deployments.
• Proven experience with Copado DevOps platform.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce deployment strategies, release management, and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with Git version control and branching strategies.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Copado Fundamentals, Copado Administrator, or Copado DevOps Certification is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce DX and DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other CI/CD tools.

 

1. Salesforce DevOps and release management

• • Own and manage the complete Salesforce DevOps lifecycle across multiple environments.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute Salesforce releases and deployments.
  • Create release schedules, deployment plans, rollback strategies and governance processes.
  • Ensure smooth deployment of Salesforce metadata and code changes using Copado, Salesforce CLI/SFDX, Metadata API, and approved CI/CD processes.

2. CI/CD and automation

• • Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automate build, testing, validation and deployment processes.
  • Create and maintain GitHub automation workflows, GitHub Actions, and YAML scripts for deployment validation, metadata promotion, automated checks, and release controls.
  • Improve deployment frequency while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

3. Source control and branch management

• • Manage Git repositories and branching strategies.
  • Handle pull requests, merge approvals, code reviews, conflict resolution and release tagging.
  • Ensure adherence to version control best practices.
  • Coordinate with development teams to manage metadata conflicts and maintain source-driven development discipline.

4. Environment management

• • Manage Salesforce sandboxes and deployment environments.
  • Coordinate metadata promotion across Development, QA, UAT and Production.
  • Maintain environment integrity and deployment readiness.
  • Support environment refresh readiness, post-refresh validation, and deployment connectivity where applicable.

5. Deployment issue analysis and resolution

• • Understand regular and recurring Salesforce deployment issues and drive timely resolution across Apex, metadata, profiles, permission sets, flows, validation rules, integrations, and security configurations.
  • Analyze validation failures, dependency issues, merge conflicts, profile/permission mismatches, test class failures, and environment-specific deployment blockers.
  • Partner with developers, architects, QA, and platform teams to identify root causes and prevent recurring deployment defects.

6. Salesforce development Support

• • Support developers in following Salesforce development and deployment best practices.
  • Review deployment impact across Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, APIs, and other metadata components as needed.
  • Hands-on Salesforce development is optional/good to have; the role is primarily focused on DevOps, deployments, automation, and release management.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. 4+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, application development, platform engineering, or a related field required. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02), AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals, RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) certification, or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of software and systems engineering principles, development lifecycle practices, testing strategies, and production support models. Knowledge of system architecture, application design, integration patterns, debugging techniques, version control, and deployment approaches. Knowledge of performance engineering, reliability, scalability, secure design, and operational resilience concepts. Skill in coding, configuration, technical design, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and structured problem solving. Skill in using development frameworks, testing tools, source control platforms, CI/CD pipelines, collaboration tools, and work management systems. Ability to lead moderately complex to complex engineering work independently while applying sound judgment, quality standards, and risk awareness. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate solution options, dependencies, risks, and progress clearly. Knowledge of advanced software and systems engineering principles, development lifecycle practices, testing strategies, and production support models. Knowledge of application architecture, system design, integration patterns, cloud and infrastructure components, and secure engineering practices. Knowledge of performance engineering, scalability, reliability, resilience, observability, and operational support frameworks. Skill in technical design, coding or configuration, debugging, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and structured problem solving. Skill in using development frameworks, testing tools, source control platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, collaboration platforms, and work management systems. Ability to lead complex engineering work independently while applying strong technical judgment, quality standards, and risk awareness. Ability to influence technical direction, guide design decisions, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to mentor less experienced engineers and drive adoption of engineering best practices, documentation standards, and continuous improvement methods.
