Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Technologist, you will help our surgical team and patients by providing critical technical support during surgical procedures so they can achieve optimal patient outcomes and ensure smooth, safe operations within the perioperative environment. This role is essential for delivering quality surgical care across various patient populations.

 

Every day you will perform as a skilled Scrub Technician, proficiently handling surgical instruments and equipment. You will be expected to safely operate and maintain a wide array of specialized surgical tools, including CUSA Neuro Suction Irrigator, microscopes, power equipment (drills, saws), autoclaves, and instrument washers, in strict accordance with manufacturer instructions and Medical Center policy.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) certifications. You must have a minimum of six months of recent experience in an acute care Surgery Department, or have completed an ORT externship on-site, demonstrating the ability to perform as scrub personnel in all specialties. Strong judgment, adaptability, and excellent communication skills are also crucial.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • (6) Six months of experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties.
  • (6) Six months experience may substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year. If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered, but must be a recent Graduate from an or Tech Program and certified.
    • If Military trained, in lieu of ORT Certification/NCCT, a minimum of 10 years of Military Surgical Tech Experience is required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification (BLS-CPR)

Preferred 

  • Completion of Operating Room Technician Training Course preferred.
