We are currently seeking a Z2_ServiceNow CMDB to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled ServiceNow CMDB & Discovery Expert to manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) function within our enterprise ServiceNow platform. Deep expertise in CMDB & CSDM design, Discovery (On-Prem, Cloud Service & OT), and Governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end design, implementation and maintenance of CMDB within ServiceNow Platform.
- Define and enforce CMDB Data Models, CI Class Structures and Relationship based on CSDM Framework, Business and Technical requirements.
- Establish and maintain CMDB Governance process, including data quality checks, reconciliation rules and compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure Team, Business Units, etc., to define/establish authoritative sources for data consistence.
- Define and implement CMDB health dashboards, KPIs, and audits to ensure data integrity and alignment with ITIL best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for CMDB enrichment, accuracy, and data consistency.
- Monitor CMDB health (Compliance, Completeness, Correctness) and resolve conflicts between data sources.
- Create/update/remove identification and reconciliation rules
- Conduct data quality analysis, provide recommendations to address data quality issues, and manage the implementation of approved recommendations.
- Participate in the planning, designing and implementing of the Service Model in CMDB to ensure visibility across the infrastructure environment.
- Build reports for data verification efforts.
- Develop training guides and communications regarding new features and functionality.
- Responsible for conducting formal and informal training sessions with business and technical end users.
- Continuous improvements for the automation and maintenance of CMDB data consistency.
- Implement and manage Discovery (On-Prem and Cloud), Service Mapping, Integration Hub, and other ITOM modules to automate CI population.
Required Skill & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in IT with minimum 5 years in ServiceNow CMDB implementation and governance.
- Expertise in ServiceNow Discovery (On-Prem, Cloud Services & OT), Service Mapping, and Integrations like Integration-Hub, WIZ.IO & Tanium, etc..,
- Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4, especially Configuration Management, Asset Management, and ITOM processes.
- Experience working with ServiceNow CMDB Data Models, CI Classes, Relationships, and Service Graph Connectors.
- Strong experience in troubleshooting Discovery, including MID server setup, credential management, and pattern development.
- Proven ability to design CI lifecycle models, service dependency maps, and federation strategies.
- Solid experience in customizing CMDB-related workflows, business rules, and integrations.
- Familiar with CMDB Health KPIs like completeness, correctness, and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with scripted REST APIs, integration frameworks, and CMDB reconciliation logic.
- Experience in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments preferred.
- The candidate must be willing to work from office premises as per company policy and project needs.
- Flexibility to support extended hours during CMDB deployments, ServiceNow Upgrade, audits, or critical outages, if required.
Preferred Certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery (CIS-DISCO)
- ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM Implementation Specialist.
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation or higher.
- Other relevant ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Service Mapping).

- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.
