Registration Rep Specialist
Job Summary
The Registration Rep Specialist is responsible for assisting the patient through the pre-registration process to ensure outpatient procedures are screened based on assigned payors, missing or incomplete information is obtained, and insurance eligibility is verified while assisting the patient obtain pre-certifications, referrals, and authorization for patient visits.
Required Qualifications
- Require a minimum of three (3) years of experience in health care and/or customer service related industry.- Require an Associate degree, or relevant experience in a healthcare setting can be considered in lieu of the required degree on a year for year basis.- Require Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification (must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date into position).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.- Prefer demonstrated understanding of commercial and government insurance payors.- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10 coding and CPT coding.- Prefer demonstrated knowledge of Medicare guidelines and Medical Necessity.- Prefer demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.- Prefer demonstrated ability to analyze problems and offer solutions.- Prefer demonstrated experience using a PC and some analytical software.- Prefer demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Prefer ability to work in a fast pace environment of a physician office.
