Senior Cardiovascular Technologist

Assists the Interventional Radiologist, Cardiologists, and Vascular Surgeons with a variety of technical procedures including but not limited to percutaneous diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, biopsies, drain placements, implants and US guided procedures under the direct supervision of a physician.  Participates in all daily duties necessary to perform high-quality patient care, imaging and support within multiple environments through out the hospital.  Must be capable of patient monitoring and demonstrate knowledge of appropriate response to changes in patient condition.  Responsible for obtaining optimal imaging in angiographic imaging and with portable US in an aseptic and sterile environments.  Must achieve and maintain in-depth knowledge of diagnostic and interventional supplies and equipment and be capable of assisting with their use in the Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology suites.  Knowledge of and expertise in the use and application of equipment and supplies is required. Must be available for on call shifts as required with 30 minutes response time.

Required qualifications:

• Graduate of a two-year invasive cardiovascular program or successful completion of a formal Radiologic Technologist program.
• Upon hire: 
  • Washington Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification --or--
  • Washington Radiologic Technologist --or--
  • National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International --or--
  • National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Upon hire: National Provider ACLS - American Heart Association
• 1 year of technologist in a Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology Lab.

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology
• 1 year of experience in dedicated high volume Cath Lab
