Job Summary and Responsibilities
As Patient Care Support, you will provide essential clerical services to a nursing unit, ensuring seamless communication and administrative efficiency. Your role is vital in coordinating telecommunications between nursing staff and all hospital departments.Every day you will take responsibility for preparing, compiling, and meticulously maintaining patient records, while also coordinating office supply and forms PAR levels at the nurses' station. You will consistently communicate effectively with all customers, guaranteeing accurate maintenance of patient medical records.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Organization's Mission, consistently embodying its Core Values. Your ability to support the strategic plan and contribute to the Performance Improvement Plan will be crucial in providing exceptional administrative support to the nursing unit.
- Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks and procedures according to Medical Center policy and procedure. Including, but not limited to:
- Transfers patients in a safe manner, communicates to patient and family members. Knows location of all departments.
- Demonstrates ability to organize and perform room support tasks/duties without having to be directed
- Controls environment and performs appropriate housekeeping duties.
- Assists team members in gathering patient care needs.
- Demonstrates ability to set-up equipment and have necessary accessories ready when needed. Shows ability to trouble-shoot (problem solve) equipment/monitors.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate General Studiesor GED
- A minimum of one year Operating Room experience or one year's experience in general hospital setting
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
