What would you do? The Procurement Manager will lead the organization s strategic procurement function, ensuring cost optimization, governance, supplier risk management, and operational excellence across all third-party spend. The role will serve as a strategic business partner to Finance and key business functions, driving value creation through disciplined sourcing, contract governance, and effective vendor management while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate governance requirements applicable to the insurance industry.
What are we looking for? Experience • 10–15 years of progressive experience in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Vendor Management, or Supply Chain. • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within Insurance, Banking, Financial Services, or another regulated industry. • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-wide procurement, commercial negotiations, and high-value supplier contracts. • Proven experience in procurement governance, spend management, and procurement transformation initiatives. • Experience with ERP and Procure-to-Pay platforms (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) is preferred. ________________________________________ Knowledge & Skills Procurement & Commercial • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management • Contract & Commercial Negotiation • Supplier Relationship Management • Vendor Risk Management • Procurement Governance • Spend Analysis & Cost Optimization • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) • Tender & RFx Management Finance & Business • Budget Management • Financial Analysis • Cost Control & Value Realization • Working Capital Management • Procurement Analytics & Reporting • Regulatory Compliance • Internal Controls & Audit Readiness Leadership & Business Partnership • Build strong partnerships with Finance, Operations, Technology, Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and other business functions. • Provide strategic procurement advice to senior leadership on sourcing decisions and commercial opportunities. • Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Champion ethical procurement practices, transparency, and high standards of corporate governance. Roles and Responsibilities: •Key Roles & Responsibilities Strategic Procurement & Category Management • Develop and execute the organization s procurement strategy aligned with business and financial objectives. • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across key spend categories including Technology, Claims Services, Professional Services, Marketing, Facilities, HR, and Corporate Services. • Drive procurement planning, supplier consolidation, and category optimization to maximize value and reduce total cost of ownership. • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiencies, and process standardization. Financial Management & Governance • Partner with Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, spend planning, and cost optimization initiatives. • Ensure procurement activities comply with approved budgets, delegated financial authority, and internal control frameworks. • Monitor procurement expenditure, supplier commitments, and savings realization through regular financial reporting. • Drive working capital improvements by negotiating favorable commercial and payment terms while maintaining healthy supplier relationships. • Support internal and external audits by ensuring procurement documentation and controls meet governance requirements. Supplier & Contract Management • Develop and maintain a high-performing supplier ecosystem through robust vendor selection, onboarding, evaluation, and performance management. • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, service levels, contract terms, warranties, and risk allocation. • Oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and timely renewals. • Implement supplier risk management practices including due diligence, business continuity assessments, and performance scorecards. Procurement Operations & Process Excellence • Lead the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, ensuring timely procurement while maintaining quality, compliance, and cost efficiency. • Enhance procurement processes through automation, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Establish procurement policies, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks aligned with industry best practices. • Monitor procurement KPIs including cycle time, savings, contract compliance, supplier performance, and service delivery.
