Physician Assistant - Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Surgery - 40 Hours - 0.8 - Night
Responsible for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System, and the department of hire.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration.
- Assesses patients’ needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician
- Provides health teaching, guidance and counseling
- Makes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician
- Performs complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques
- Orders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician
- Orders medication in collaboration with physician
Requirements:
- Bachelor?s Degree and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Three to five years equivalent combination of education and experience required
- New York State license and current registration as a Physician Assistant.
- NCCPA Certification through completion of national boards
- BLS/ACLS certification
- All credentialing documents not limited to but including NYS PA license and registration, Diploma, current PA certification, ACLS, BLS, DEA, etc
