Senior Validation Engineer

Quantum ArtFull-timePosted Jul 27, 2026

Quantum Art, a full stack quantum computing company, develop state of the art quantum computing systems based on trapped ions technology (both hardware and software).

As part of our mission, our team builds our quantum processing units (QPUs), develops novel quantum gates and circuits, and implements new algorithms capable of solving hard computational tasks, beyond current classical computational abilities.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Validation Engineer to build and lead our quality strategy for a first-of-its-kind quantum computing platform. This is a unique opportunity to establish the company's validation methodology, define testing infrastructure, and ensure the reliability of highly complex multidisciplinary systems combining software, electronics, optics, control systems, and quantum physics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the overall QA, verification, and validation strategy across the entire system.
  • Design and implement scalable testing methodologies, infrastructure, and processes from subsystem validation through full system integration.
  • Plan and execute testing for complex automated systems spanning software, hardware, and customer-facing interfaces.
  • Build testing frameworks and automation infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Translate system architecture and product requirements into comprehensive validation plans and test coverage.
  • Work closely with Software, Hardware, Electronics, Algorithms, Physics, and Product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Identify, investigate, document, and drive resolution of complex system issues using structured root cause analysis.
  • Define quality metrics, release criteria, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Mentor engineers and promote QA best practices across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in System QA, Integration QA, Verification & Validation, Test Architecture for complex multidisciplinary systems.
  • Proven experience defining QA methodologies, validation strategies, and testing infrastructures—not only executing test plans.
  • Strong system-level thinking with the ability to understand complex interactions across hardware and software.
  • Experience working in hardware-oriented environments, including lab equipment, embedded systems, or measurement systems.
  • Hands-on experience with system validation and integration testing.
  • Strong technical orientation with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to independently lead cross-functional quality initiatives from definition through execution.
  • Fast learner with the curiosity to dive into new technologies and scientific domains.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
  • Background in robotics, semiconductors, medical devices, aerospace, quantum technologies, or other deep-tech industries.
  • Experience working with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, or measurement systems.

General

  • We are located at the Science Park, by the Weizmann institute.
  • Full collaboration with the experimental & theoretical groups at the Weizmann Institute.
  • Only relevant candidates will be contacted.
