Skip to main contentSign InPACU Registered Nurse page is loadedPACU Registered NurseApplylocationsSaint Francis Hospital - Hartford, CTtime typeFull timeposted onPosted Todayjob requisition id00683011Employment Type:Full timeShift:Evening ShiftDescription:Position PurposeAt Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Main PACU provides post-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.What You Will DoProvide high-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries. Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness.Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.Minimum QualificationsRequired:Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.Valid RN license in Connecticut.The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery.Preferred:Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU nurses with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertiseBLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelinesPosition Highlights and BenefitsFull-Time – 30 hours/week – Evening ShiftThree 10-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend, with variable start times.On-call requirements is based on unit needs.
