Experienced Operational Ex Specialist

We are seeking a motivated, forward-thinking and collaborative professional to join our HSE Process Excellence team as an Experienced Operational Excellence Specialist (Data Analytics & Technology).

This role supports the delivery of data analytics, performance reporting and digital solutions that contribute to HSE operational excellence across Building Automation. The successful candidate will leverage strong analytical and technical skills to transform data into meaningful insights, support automation and digitalisation initiatives, and enable informed decision-making through accurate and effective reporting. 

Role Description

As an Experienced Operational Excellence Specialist, you will support the HSE data analytics and reporting function, contributing to the delivery of reporting outputs, dashboards and month-end performance business reviews.

You will perform analysis of safety data to identify trends, insights and opportunities that support operational performance and business objectives. A strong understanding of safety data and its practical application within HSE governance and performance frameworks is important to ensure meaningful and accurate reporting.

Working closely with business stakeholders and the Process Excellence Team, you will help align analytics and reporting activities with operational requirements, support data quality and consistency, and contribute to automation, digitisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will also collaborate with team members to share knowledge, promote best practices and support the ongoing development of analytics and reporting capabilities within the Process Excellence function. 

 

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery and continuous improvement of HSE data analytics and reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and performance metrics to support operational and management reviews.
• Analyse safety data to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
• Support the preparation and delivery of month-end performance business reviews.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency and integrity across reporting processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business priorities.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve reporting efficiency through automation and digitisation.
• Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and analytics solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives.
• Maintain reporting documentation, standards and best practices.

• Monitor emerging technologies and analytics tools that may enhance team capabilities.

Required & Desirable Skills

Required

Advanced Data Analytics & Reporting

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data modelling, PivotTables, Power Pivot, dashboards and automation (VBA/macros).
• Strong ability to analyse, interpret and translate complex data into actionable business insights.

• Experience developing KPI frameworks, performance reporting and executive-level dashboards.

   

Business Intelligence & Digital Tools

• Advanced capability with Power BI (or similar BI platforms) for dashboard development and data visualisation.
• Experience working with SharePoint, Forms, Lists and other cloud-based Microsoft platforms.
• Ability to connect, transform and manage data from multiple systems and sources.

• Experience supporting digitalisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

   

Automation & Data Management

• Working knowledge of Power Automate and workflow automation.
• Understanding of SQL and data querying concepts.

• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, C# or similar) to support reporting and data management activities.

   

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong data storytelling and visual presentation skills.

• Ability to align reporting outputs with business objectives and operational priorities.

   

Highly Desirable

• Advanced Power BI development, including DAX and data modelling.
• Experience using MST (Intelex) systems.
• Experience working within a Health & Safety environment.
• Experience supporting Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement or Digital Transformation programmes.
