Education Coordinator - Pee Dee Area Health Education Center
Job Summary: Develops, coordinates, and conducts education programs, clinical, and non-clinical education learning experiences for healthcare professionals, students, and faculty in the Pee Dee region as required by the South Carolina AHEC agreement.
Training activities (traditional classroom, videoconferences, webinars, and computer-based modules) are designed to meet healthcare professional development needs and are offered on weekdays, nights, and weekends.
Designs, identifies, and implements effective programs to attract and recruit minority and/or disadvantaged students to careers in the health professions.
Collaborates with health professions programs to provide community-based education learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.
Facilitates student placements, orient students to communities, organize student projects, coordinate high fidelity interprofessional team-based simulation technology training programs for HPS students and faculty in the Pee Dee region. Coordinate and implement regional interprofessional/interdisciplinary student educational activities including ITCC, ITCC+, and IPC.
Coordinates the South Carolina AHEC Scholars program in the Pee Dee region
Travels to attend SC AHEC meetings and to conduct Pee Dee AHEC continuing professional development programs for healthcare professionals, health career students, and health professions students’ activities across the Pee Dee region.
Participates in South Carolina AHEC's endeavors in healthcare workforce education, recruitment, and retention.
Serves on SC AHEC and Pee Dee AHEC regional committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of related work experience in healthcare, education, or business.
Must demonstrate professionalism, leadership, effective communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills.
Should have knowledge of program development, teaching fundamentals, hospital organization, health care agency, educational pathways, and legislative activities.
Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy using MS Office products and computer technology.
SC Drivers license is required.
