Job Description
The Commercial Management team, part of the Customer Value Office, provides commercial management services to the UK&I business in order to assist in profitably reaching its financial targets with an acceptable level of commercial and contractual risk.
The Commercial Management team supports the business from a contractual perspective by supporting, and where required leading, the negotiation and conclusion of commercial contracts with our customers. The team is supported by its own internal legal team and by other functions across Experian such as Compliance, Strategic Pricing and Finance teams to ensure that the wider commercial considerations are taken into account when structuring, negotiating and concluding deals. You will be reporting to the Lead Commercial Manager.
What you'll do:
- Provide commercial and contractual support, including drafting amendments and reviewing contract terms.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a range of commercial agreements globally, including software licensing, data, services, support, framework, and partner agreements.
- Ensure sales transactions align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards.
- Collaborate with Sales, Compliance, Data Protection, and other stakeholders to support deal governance and risk mitigation.
- Lead negotiations of commercial terms and contract schedules, including complex and high-value deals.
- Improve contract templates and commercial processes.
- Deliver guidance and training to other teams on commercial and contractual best practices.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments to support contract strategy.
- Share expertise and contribute to the continuous development of commercial capability across the business.
- Promote a customer-centric and compliant culture, ensuring fair treatment of customers and adherence to regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
What you'll bring?
- Qualified lawyer with post qualification experience in commercial law, within regulated or technology driven environment;
- +5 years experience in Legal/Commercial/Contract management role
- Drafting, negotiating and managing contract obligations in relation to software licencing, software development and the provision of data.
- 1+ years of experience in leading process improvement projects and initiatives
- Work with contractual and operational change processes
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
