Role Overview
As a Software Engineer II in Corporate Solutions at Mastercard, you will work with modern software engineering practices focused on Java microservices, event-driven architectures, data platforms, analytics solutions, and cloud-native technologies. You will build scalable enterprise solutions that help businesses streamline and optimize payment processes globally.
What You'll Do
• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable microservices and APIs.
• Develop Java and Spring Boot based services integrated with enterprise platforms.
• Build and maintain event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Develop and optimize Oracle database solutions including SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Support reporting and analytics initiatives through integration with Power BI and other BI platforms.
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, APIs, and integrations supporting analytics and reporting platforms.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and business teams to deliver actionable insights.
• Deliver secure, high-quality, maintainable software operating at enterprise scale.
• Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow cloud-native development and 12-factor application design principles.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
Required Experience & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience building event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Strong Oracle database development skills including SQL, PL/SQL, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Experience with PCF, Kubernetes, Docker, or equivalent cloud deployment platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating data solutions with reporting and analytics platforms such as Power BI.
• Familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of software scalability, reliability, performance, and security best practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience in financial services, payments, commercial cards, banking, or fintech domains.
• Experience with enterprise observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong learning mindset and passion for emerging technologies.
