THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Global Tax Policy Director to our Finance - Tax & Treasury team in São Paulo, Brazil!

As part of the Global Tax & Treasury organization, you will play a critical role in establishing and executing Wellhub's corporate tax policy strategy. This team is dedicated to safeguarding the business, mitigating legislative risk, and advocating for favorable tax environments across our expanding global footprint. In this role, you will act as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, government authorities, and internal teams, ensuring our business growth is aligned with evolving domestic and international tax frameworks while supporting our overall mission.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Tax Policy Strategy & Advocacy:
    • Develop and implement tax policy strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.
    • Advocate for favorable tax policies by engaging with government authorities, industry associations, and policymakers.
    • Assess the impact of tax legislation and regulatory changes on the company’s operations and financial position.
  • Legislative & Regulatory Monitoring:
    • Track and analyze emerging tax legislation, regulations, and trends at the domestic and international levels.
    • Provide timely insights to senior management regarding potential tax risks and opportunities.
    • Develop policy positions and recommendations based on legislative developments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:
    • Represent the company in discussions with government agencies, tax authorities, and trade associations.
    • Collaborate with internal departments, including legal and internal controls, to align tax policy strategies.
    • Participate in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to influence tax policy decisions.
  • Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth research on complex tax policy issues and develop white papers, position statements, and policy briefs.
    • Support the company’s tax planning and compliance teams with insights on evolving tax policy matters.
    • Evaluate the economic and business implications of proposed tax changes.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure that the company adheres to evolving tax regulations and policy frameworks.
    • Work closely with tax compliance teams to mitigate risks associated with tax policy changes.
    • Provide guidance on tax governance and best practices.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A seasoned tax professional with previous relevant experience in tax policy, government relations, or a related function within a multinational corporation, tax authority, or professional services firm.
  • An expert in domestic and international tax laws, tax legislative processes, OECD guidelines, BEPS, and global developments such as Pillar Two.
  • A strategic relationship-builder with proven experience engaging with government agencies, industry groups, and key policymakers to influence regulatory outcomes.
  • An analytical thinker who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Law, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or LLM preferred), equipped with strong research skills to conduct tax impact assessments and policy modeling.
  • An exceptional communicator and influencer who excels at translating complex tax issues into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
  • A resilient, adaptable professional who thrives when managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Advanced English proficiency is mandatory to interact with global teams.
