We are seeking Software Engineer 2, (.NET and Kafka) who will be reporting to Sr. Manager/Director – Supply Chain. We are looking to hire an Integration Engineer with 5–6 years of experience in building technology solutions using the .NET platform, with strong hands-on exposure to enterprise integration technologies, particularly Kafka-based, event-driven architectures. This person will help define, design, develop, test, and implement scalable and highly performant integration pipeline between new WMS solution and existing ERP suite, ensuring seamless and real-time data flow. This role will focus on API and middleware development by creating, managing, and maintaining APIs and producers/consumers for integration pipeline. They will work with Enterprise DevOps team and Integration COE team to design and implement all Kafka topics for new WMS. They will also be involved with DevOps team to help manage incidents, fixes, and enhancements for existing San Bernardino installation and will then help extend that DevOps process to Columbus after go-live.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in integration design and development, API and middleware development, and a mindset focused on building scalable, high-performance, and reliable integration pipelines in a complex, fast-paced enterprise environment.

 

Critical Primary Responsibilities:

 

Integration Design & Development

  • Design, develop, test, and implement scalable and highly performant integration pipelines using .NET between a new WMS solution and the existing ERP ecosystem.
  • Focus on API and middleware development, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs using .NET.
  • Develop & support event-driven integrations using Kafka, including producers, consumers, and message flows.
  • Apply enterprise integration patterns to enable reliable, real-time or near-real-time data exchange.

 

Kafka & Middleware Technologies

  • Work with the Enterprise DevOps and Integration COE teams to design and implement Kafka topics, schemas, and messaging standards for the WMS integration landscape.
  • Support Kafka-related development activities such as topic configuration, message handling, retries, error scenarios, and performance optimization.
  • Ensure integrations adhere to enterprise standards for scalability, observability, and resiliency.

 

DevOps & Production Support

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to support existing San Bernardino WMS integrations, including incident resolution, bug fixes, and enhancements.
  • Contribute to stabilizing and operationalizing integration components post–go-live.
  • Help extend and standardize the DevOps operating model to support the Columbus implementation and future rollouts.
  • Participate in CI/CD processes and follow established deployment and monitoring practices.

 

Program Collaboration

  • Work closely with architects, functional teams, ERP teams, and external partners across multiple workstreams and releases.
  • Provide hands-on technical contributions that help reduce integration risk and improve delivery outcomes in a complex, multi-release program environment.
  • Document solutions and support knowledge sharing across teams.

 

Critical Skills & Experiences:

  • Must have 5-6 years of hands-on experience in Dot Net implementation, development, and customization:
    • Languages: C#, VB.Net, ASP.NET
    • Dot Net Framework 4.8 and above. Dot Net Core 6.0 and above
    • MVC, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, IIS, Bootstrap5
    • Web API and Web services (RESTful and SOAP)
    • Windows services, Batch console applications
    • C# unit testing frameworks
    • SQL Server and Oracle DB, including SSIS packages
    • Source code management tools including using Subversion, Git
  • Must have practical experience with Kafka, including producers and consumers.
  • Must have solid understanding of enterprise integration concepts and patterns, such as:
    • Event-driven architecture
    • Pub/Sub messaging
    • API-based integrations
    • Error handling and resiliency
  • Must have strong understanding of OOPS and knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD
  • Experience working with production systems, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux) and network infrastructure is expected.
  • Nice to have experience:
    • Angular JS or React JS
    • Microservices architecture with API Gateway
    • Agile/ Scrum methodologies
    • Exposure to Retail or Supply Chain domains.
    • Experience working in large-scale enterprise integration programs.
    • Familiarity with schema management and message versioning concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
