Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Waterloo Function: Factory Engineering (CA) Title: Senior Electrical Engineer, Facilities - 118763 Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position ## Your Responsibilities As a Senior Facilities Electrical Engineer for Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to support our manufacturing and operational goals. This role requires strong technical capability, collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment. This position will support multiple projects and sites in Waterloo, IA. Key responsibilities will include: * Design and develop electrical systems, components, and products for industrial and manufacturing applications. * Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. * Troubleshoot electrical issues in equipment, machinery, or facility systems. * Lead or support continuous improvement projects, including automation upgrades and reliability enhancements, use of AI tools to automate process, tasks and monitoring needs. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, maintenance, production, and quality. * Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations (NEC, UL, IEC, etc.), Arc Flash studies, label creation. * Perform testing, analysis, and validation of electrical systems and components via software program, Schneider PME. * Support capital projects from conception through implementation. * Work heavily with vendors, contractors, and consulting entities on equipment specifications and installation requirements. VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position ## What Skills You Need * 5 or more years of electrical engineering experience * Strong knowledge of Industrial electrical design principles, power distribution, and control systems. * Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical). * Familiarity with PLCs, automation, or industrial controls. * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. ## What Makes You Standout * Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or equipment design. * Knowledge of motor drives, sensors, instrumentation, and safety circuits. * Understanding of programming or ladder logic (Rockwell/Siemens). * Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure ## Education * Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field What You'll Get At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
