We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand to join our Wellington maintenance team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll lead a small crew delivering a wide variety of maintenance and repair works across the network. From repairing damaged handrails, barriers and retaining walls through to concreting, pothole repairs and general civil maintenance, no two days will be the same.
Working closely with the Supervisor, you'll help plan daily activities, coordinate resources, mentor team members and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You'll be a practical leader who enjoys working alongside your crew and takes pride in delivering quality work. To be successful, you'll bring:
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Foreperson or similar leadership role
- Strong experience within civil construction, maintenance, roading or infrastructure environments
- Class 2 driver's licence preferred
- Experience with concreting, pavement repairs, general maintenance or construction activities
- Practical construction, building, carpentry or handyman experience would be highly regarded
- Ability to lead and motivate crews while maintaining productivity and quality standards
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Good communication and planning skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach to work
